I've been trying to avoid this, but cannot wait any longer. I've been out of work for 3 months, and have had no decent leads. My prospects are bleak.
I'm going to the unemployment office today and file for unemployment.

You need to buy a Dodge, paint it like the Gen'ral Lee and lose 70 IQ points. THEN, you can be the best statistic of them all:

I'm back. I qualified for maximum benefit. Wich is 1/3 what I was making. But, at the same time 100% more than I'm making now.
Also, I got busted for reading GAB while I was waiting.

well.. if you wait.. you may get a job before time runs out, then you threw away money that you could have gotten.

Should I be scared that Squeam and I post practically the same things?
I was going to say: "actually, it's an undefined amount more than you current make."

Shoelace. I received 6 weeks of severance... plus 4 weeks of "un-employee pay" to receive my tenure so that I would qualify for retirement/pension.
My severance ended 2/12/02, and I didn't qualify for unemployment until the severance was completely paid out. And, mid-February, I had a couple of good prospects, and waited to hear from them before I applied for unemployment. (I really didn't want to do it)

Speaking of Tattos.
There was a guy at the unemployment office that was in full "biker regailia". The studded leather vest, faded/worn bluejeans, studded leather belt. He had the look too. Heavily tattooed arms, the long hair, bushy beard, beer gut.
But, he had on a pair of brand new jogging shoes instead of the biker style boots.

i work for a consulting company in princeton. we do occasionally have need for flash development, though to date we've just sucked it up and done it ourselves (adequately at best). I would say the chances aren't great, but I'll certainly keep you in mind if it happens. One client in particular is more concerned with look and feel than content, at least for now.

Okay, I'm a filthy liar, and I'll likely never go away now. I just had something I've been humming all day I thought was appropriate for the math reference. Fortunately, my part time membership in QTA only required I learn a single showtune reference.
GENERAL:
I am the very model of a modern Major-General,
I've information vegetable, animal, and mineral,
I know the kings of England, and I quote the fights historical
From Marathon to Waterloo, in order categorical;
I'm very well acquainted, too, with matters mathematical,
I understand equations, both the simple and quadratical,
About binomial theorem I'm teeming with a lot o' news,
With many cheerful facts about the square of the hypotenuse.
ALL:
With many cheerful facts about the square of the hypotenuse.
With many cheerful facts about the square of the hypotenuse.
With many cheerful facts about the square of the hypotenuse.
I'm very good at integral and differential calculus;
I know the scientific names of beings animalculous:
In short, in matters vegetable, animal, and mineral,
I am the very model of a modern Major-General.
