I hate all homework assignments which are actually done by the parents rather than the kids.



In fourth grade our kids had to make a diorama of a Mexican Mission. On back to school night you could go in and go "Kid - Mom - Kid - Mom - Kid - Oooh, DAD did that one".



The Dad ones were the ones where the arches had been turned out on a router, and the walls were bevel cut.

O.K. What you need to do is look around and see if you can find a rudimentary lathe.



Then, take it and fashion a baseball bat out of it using scrap metal.



After doing that, beat the kid with it for waiting until Sunday to do homework.

I did one about Dinosaurs I called "Dinorama". It even had little Origami dinos and plants.



They weren't impressed. They seemed to think I should be doing the networking stuff they were paying me for and not making Dinosaurs out of Post-It notes.
