Crappy CDs
A comedy conversation by Livewire 78,229 13

I collect CDs. I have over 500 of the suckers. I like rare and underground stuff. One of the things I like to do is buy CDs from the "discontinued" bin. When CDs cost $1 or $2, I figure it's worth the gamble. Often you can trade in CDs at a used CD store for $1 or $2, so it's almost like getting your money back. I've found quite a few treasures this way.

Unfortunately, I've found a lot of duds this way. I have about 30 CDs which even pawn shops and used CD stores won't take.

My question to you is: What the hell do I do with all these things? I don't want to just throw them out. I don't necessarily need to make any money either. I just want them gone so I can fit more good CDs on the shelf.

Coasters!

Warm them a little, and make sculpture!

Mini Frisbees?

Sharpen them for high tech shurikens (sp?)

I accumulate more than that in a year, and many times I've thrown away garbagebags full. But then again, I get them free.

The shuriken idea actually works. Use a sharp pair of scissors and make a star with five points. They will stick in the foamy ceiling tiles they use in most workplaces, offices, and schools. You just need to learn how to flick them just right so they shoot straight up.

Take the Cd's in a sack to your nearest CD/Music store.. Proceed to take the CD's out of the sack and randomly place them on the shelves. I've done this and it confuses the hell out of security... See if you can finish the sack before they throw you out.

People around here like to get as many free AOL CDs as possible then use them as dorm decs by doing an entire wall in CDs, shiny side out.

Speaking of crappy CDs, I just downloaded the newest Pink album, "Try This", the one that sold like, zero copies, and it's surprisingly fun. I like how she appears to be actively aspiring to be the next Pat Benetar.

Target practice. Then don't ever buy a cd again. It's called Kazaa. Those Frosters make too much money anyway.

Some good ideas in there... I think Mr. Peg's is brilliant. I'm gonna try it.

My other idea is to put them all in a shoebox... there's about 50 now... and then place them randomly on the sidewalk on Vancouver's busy Robson Street. Then yell at anyone who touches my "art". And when I'm done, run away.

I was sitting about in the video editing room when a friend of mine took one of my crappy CDs I'd been playing constantly, and threw it at my face. Seeing that horrible disk of terrible light near turned me religious. Then it hit me in the face and left a huge scratch diagonally.

Luckily, I know where his girlfriend lives.

It's got one or two tolerable songs, but it's mostly crawp. I ordered it from BMG on a friend's recommendation. Also in that order were Density's Child and Des'ree, which I ordered for my now-ex-girlfriend, leaving me saddled with them.

I did send one of them to MonkeyFun when I was her Secret Santa. She thought it was so awful she re-gifted it to Eric Nguyen.

Sweet Jesus! I sold the album to a guy in Edmonton who also read this thread. He was a friend of one of the band members (Bill). If you really need a copy, send an email to the address in my profile, and I'll forward it to the guy I sold it to. Maybe he can help you out.

wrap them up as presents and give them to people. then it would be rude if they don't accept them and take them off your hands. you don't need a reason, it's the thought that counts, right?

though this could backfire and get recycled as a present among all your friends kinda like will farrell & the breadmaker in the movie old school.

That is why you would hate this album. The only metal band still in existence that's worthy to cover Maiden would be Iron Savior.
