What would you do if gab really shut down?

I'd try to keep it alive through an instant message program. But without the annoying newer people.
Either that, or take up drinking to blot out reality.

It would survive somehow. There must be one or two Gabbers with the moxie to set up a similar board. Finances, now that's a different matter.

It has, Once as payback for someone hacking Hargrave and pulling a prank. John shut it down for 24 hours. Once again when it morphed over to stew, this time we had advanced notice and a count down, it was a huge tear filled love fest, then yet again stew shut down, rinse and repeat.

Then head on over to www.big-uns.com to see if the rack of the day has been updated.

What Trixxie said. Long ago, you could actually imp someone just by using their name. Someone posted as John and said Gab was gonna shut down on such-and-such a date. John, being the prankster that he is, thought it would be a hoot to really shut it down temporarily. When we went to gab that day we were redirected to a page selling the Zug t-shirts.
People weren't happy. Word quickly spread via IM that Rocken Donkey had started another message board, sort of a relief shelter for Gabbers. He called it "Frost You Hargrave."
I'm telling ya, people were PISSED. It was like if smokers woke up one day to find there were no cigarettes to be had anywhere.
I was a lot more addicted a couple of years ago. I think I'd be ok if it shut down, though I'd be sad to see it go.
It would sure be fun watching the mahem on HoB after everyone went there to post.

I would have to actually surf OTHER websites.
I would be sad.

If Zug were to shut down:
I'd laugh less
I'd cry more
maybe I'd even mutilate small animals (before I ate them)
I'd have more time to work on my plans to take over and PROPERLY rule the world
But most importantly, if dear Zug were to disappear, I'd spend less time making suburban Library patrons uncomfrotable.
