GAB: The final frontier
A comedy conversation

Okay, I've got an idea. I've talked with Trae, and she's sold on it, but now I need to pitch it to you guys.
How would y'all like to come to Houston for the next GABfest?
Now, I know we have some Texas GABbers who'd rather go someplace other than Texas, but it'll be fun and I won't have to go very far.
Here's the main attraction: Space Center Houston
We'd spend the day there, touring Historic Mission Control Center, Hangar X, the Space Vehicle Mockup Facility, and Rocket Park. We'd visit the Mission Status Center and get live updates on current missions. We can touch moon rocks, people!. It's a buncha fun, I guarantee.
That would fill our day. For a little night-time enjoyment, I suggest strolling along the Kemah Boardwalk. There's plenty of good eating there, and little bit of shopping, too. If we go at the end of September, we'll catch the Jazz Fest. Or we can get haunted in October.
There are also a number of bars in the area where we can let our hair down. I've not nailed down lodging but there are a lot of hotels there, and some of them pretty affordable.
What say you, fellow GABbers?

That's more Clearlake than Houston.
We'd fill up the Mucky Duck so that's out.
And there is always Astroworld.

I consider Clear Lake part of "Greater Houston". What's the Mucky Duck? Astroworld's cool, but we did Six Flags last time. I wanted to do something different.

Wonder if there is a strip club called the Twat-Waffel House yet ?

The following previous gabfest attendees will not make it to one held in Houston:
Trixxie: Because everyone knows that Texans murder gays on sight. And Trixxie doesn't hide it all that well.
Chickens: Because if he was unwilling to drive as far as Tenessee, he ain't heading for Texas.
Me: Because, with an internship and a (hopeful) job, plus a wife and kids, there is just no way that I can explain my way into driving all the way to Houston to see Trae's tits again. If this all comes together, I will have to drop by her apartment so that she can show them to me, just so that I don't feel like I'm missing out.

Trixxie faced the wrath of Trae at Gabessee. Texans should be no sweat.
Chickens can afford a plane ticket. He can just sell a motorcyle. How many does he need anyway?
And you, Chili - Why bother explaining? Just tell them you're going out to get some milk. So what if it takes you all weekend?

I haven't been to Houston in a few years, and I've told SheHammerhead that I want to take her to Texas someday. We'd just have to leave YoungHammerhead with the in-laws for the weekend.
We may be moving soon, so I think all our funds will be tied up with that, however, we might be able to pull it off if it was in the late fall.

If we can wait until then, I'll be willing to go balls out as the Hostess to Spicey's Host, but if it occurs during the middle of this next semester I'm not going to be able to devote all of my attention to anything at all.
And when I say Balls Out, I mean it... I'm a helluva Hostess and I realize that I would have some big shoes to fill with Trae as my predecessor.

SPICEY!! If you happen to live near Willowbrook Mall (I know this is true because I am stalking you heard it somewhere), you live right near my old house!!
I have fond memories of living there. I played doctor with the boy who lived just down the street.
It'll be like a trip down memory lane (if the drinks are mixed right I can give "tours" down that lane *winkwink*)

Why do I always think these kinds of threads are boring?
Oh, right.
It's because they are always about places I don't want to go.

Hush, Kittuns. You know you want to stalk me.
Itellyawhut. Let's get some solid numbers. Ignore everything else such as time of year and activities planned. I want to know who would actually be willing and able to come to Houston for a weekend. Assume that we pick a weekend that's suitable for you. Give me a go / no go for Houston.
If there are enough "go" answers, then it's on, and you know what that means.

If the stars align properly (kid, wife, work, etc) I would go to Houston.

When the moon is in the Seventh House
And Jupiter aligns with Mars
Then peace will guide the planets
And love will steer the stars

Trae, you sound a little cranky. If you're out of happy pills, I would suggest as a substitute that you take two cucumbers vaginally and call me in the morning.

As a Houstonian, I highly endorse this idea. As the only Houston member of QTA, I volunteer to escort those interested to the butsex lovely gay bars.
