Ladies of Gab...
A comedy conversation

As I generally don't like to stink, I shower regularly... and as I like to smell good, I also wear cologne. However, my current supply is almost gone, so I'm turning to you to see what my next brand of cologne should be. Isn't this exciting? Ok, not really, but humor me.
I don't want something overpowering (Drakkar/Polo).. but I also don't want something cheap and sickeningly sweet (Stetson).
Price isn't a problem, as I tend to go for the more expensive ones.. (currently wearing Armani).
So, what should I buy?

Try Realm. Every time my (soon-to-be-ex) husband wore Realm I loved the way he smelled. There is something to be said for pheromones. I've never actually smelled it on anyone else though. On him it actually made me want to be in the same room with him, and sometimes I even acted like I liked him.
Polo is awful and smells like one of those pine tree air fresheners, stay away at all costs. Polo Blue is nice though.
CK One is nice in the summer.
Not a big fan of the Banana Republic.
Curve is nice, though it also what I would refer to as a "summer" scent.

Apparently the smell of sweat and three day old dried smegma is a major turn on for some people. Course those same people probably like that I-peed-myself-a-week-ago-street-person smell too.

I'm suprised Kenith Cole can get away selling Black like that. I mean, once you buy one do you have to feed it all the time? Aren't they kind of hard to stock? Do the sprayers at the mall just shove one your way so they lightly brush up against you and rub their scent off?
Who wants to smell like jerry curl and maccroni, anyway?
Sounds like a marketing nightmare to me.

Hey.
Just got back from the "fragrance shop," and here are my obversations:
"Black" smelled really good upon application, but after 15 minutes, I began to smell like a fag. (sorry QTA)
"Curve" not strong enough for my taste, slight rubbing alcohol smell...Sorry Trae.
Dolce & Gabbana (The child of Sigfried & Roy working there suggested this) was two sweet. "It smells gay" was out of my mouth before I had a chance to catch it.
He showed me another one, can't remember the name, but I DO remember the smell, and with that, I have named this fragrance "Midnight in Seacaucus."
Hilfiger-Didn't have the body for it.
Hugo Boss-Didn't have the stomach for it.
Finally, it came down to two...I had him ringing up the Armani GIO for $65 bucks, when over his paisley-covered shoulder, I spotted my favorite....CK Be. I got 6.7 ounces for $50.
So, here are my grades:
Black, By Kenneth Cole: D+
Curve, C+
Dolce & Gabbana F
Unnamed fragrance F-
Hilfiger D
Hugo Boss C
Armani A+ but $65 for 3.4 oz
CK Be A+ $50 for 6.7 oz
I LOVE CK Be!

Patchouli has to be the number one reason I Frost-ing HATE hippes.
After my sister and her b/f left I had to air out my house for a week.
My mom used to say that the hippies wore patchouli to cover the smell of the pot.
I'd MUCH rather smell like the pot.
And Drakaar and Polo are SO 1980's.
You wear either of them and you might as well grab yourself a pair of Z-Cavirichi jeans and a Member's Only jacket and sit down to watch the Breakfast Club

Yes they still make members only jackets.
My b/f's aunt from Florida sent him a lovely light blue one in MEDIUM a couple years ago for Christmas.
We made a friend of ours who is 6'4 and about 280 wear it around the house one night at a party. Funniest Frost-ing thing I have ever seen. Big ole' red headed Frankenstein in a mini members only jacket.

360 Red by Perry Ellis, the refreshing essence of Italian Bergamot, Lime Zest, Sunburst Mandarin, and Ruby Orange, pulse with a warm radiance of Nutmeg, Red Cinnamon and Clove Bud. An aromatic masculinity of Parsley, Coriander Seeds and Lavender entice the senses to experience the background of Sandalwood Mysore, Red Cedarwood, Vetiver Root, Indonesian Patchouli, Oakmoss and Clean Musk.
And you say they turned the homo knob down??

When I broke up with him, I bought myself a bottle of the Curve just so I could sit around smelling it all the time.

Actually, I have allergies, so I don't really like cologne.
The one that really gives me a massive headache right away is Polo. Ugh. And it seems like the men who wear it bathe in it, so you can't get away from the smell.
I don't mind guys that smell good, if they use moderation. I don't know much about colognes because if I try to smell them, I end up with a headache. Some bother me and some don't
I would recommend whatever you pick, don't put too much on! It should be something that only someone really close to you can smell, not everyone in a 50 mile radius.

He says he's not gay. Really.

But did it make you want to do things that would get you arrested?

Well if no one else is going to say it I will
FAG
Do they still make Versace? You used to only could get it at Saks and Baton Rouge doesn't have a Saks

Since the only men I get to smell are ones I work with, the cologne my husband wears is a pleasant and welcome change. He wears Cool Water.
One man here wears his cologne(s) so heavy that you can enter the building 10 minutes after he does and STILL smell a very strong aroma of his cologne. Heaven forbid you happen to catch the elevator at the same time he does.

I have come to the colclusion that axe is really god smiting us. I'm in gade 8. As was previously noted, axe really appeals to the ll year old (and ulp, to a certain extent) audience. Well, it turns out, it really appeals to them. I cannot go into the change room or locker bay without getting a headache. It reeks of this Shakespeare. Look, I really don't care if you want to buy cheap reaky crap instead of either real deoderant or good cologne, but please learn to use it in moderation. For my health and sanity.

For years, I've worn Cool Water. But I recommend buying one of the small bottles and/or finding a sample. It's got certain pheremones that don't mix with every guy, so you'll want to try it first. Just a dab, or spray and walk through. Direct spray on the chest, but only if you want it to last all day.
I also use Avatar as well. But I got that in one of those gift packs with some Prefered Stock and some Aspen. The Avatar is the best of the three.

Isn't it funny how it only takes one bad relationship or to learn someone is psycho, or they just stop breathing on you during sex, to ruin a fragrance for you from then on?
Until the opportunity to get laid comes up again with someone else, then you just have to do that breathing over your shoulder thing.
