It isn't stupid when one doesn't know the answer.

I would just cut and paste the words of the post, and then provide a link to the thread, perhaps giving an indication of where in the thread the post exists.

I view the page source and search for a word in the post. The post ID number shows up in the code. I paste the thread address then put # and the post ID at the end of it.

Oh. My. God.

You don't know how?

Who doesn't know how?

Jesus. You must be one stupid computer nerd if you don't know how to do that.

Even a schizophrenic ape with mental retardation and a terrible overbite knows how to do that.

God.

Idiot.

... I have no idea, I'd like to find out.

Easy way: if it is in someone's list of recent posts then just go to their profile, right click the link that says "more" next to the appropriate post, choose copy link location, then paste that as your new link.

Hard way: view the source code for the thread and find the specific post ID.

Since we're learning about linking, I thought I'd use this thread to test a little question that's been on my mind: is it possible to link to a clickie.

Thanks for asking this question Millie, I wasn't sure myself.

And Briham, it's been tried before, I don't think it works.

Actually, Di, it does work. One of my funniest posts is a stupid post I linked like that.

Easy way..

Hard way..

Inbetween way: you can just hover over someone's clickie buttons next to their post and then add that message number to the end of the thread url.. www.zug.com/gab/index.cgi?func=add_msg&thread_id=52583#???????

This only works for posts you did not make, but it works for those too if you logout first and then hover.
