Getting Hooked
A comedy conversation

No, this thread is not about sex. ...unless you get off on this kind of thing.
I'm cleaning the basement, sucking up cobwebs (WITH MY VACCUM.) And the phone rings.
I boogie over to the room where the phone is and slip on one of my kids juggling balls.
While rolling forward on the ball, I reach out to grab the phone- but the ball takes a left turn and instead of the phone, my hand is impaled by a 3/0 daredevle treble hook.
(I still answer the call- it is some chick looking for my son. I snarl: "NO! He's not Frost-ing here!")
...So I mosey upstairs to ask the dear husband to please remove the GIANT HOOK IN MY HAND.
I show it to him, but he's playing Party Poker.
He says "Ooh- that looks bad, honey."
".....But I've almost won this tournament..."
So I gather up what I think are the needed tools- Vise grip, side cutter, hammer, gauze, peroxide, needle, thread.....and wait.
...and wait...
...and wait...
Finally I yell at him- "ARE YOU GONNA EVER TAKE THIS HOOK OUT OF MY HAND????"
And he said- "Is it THAT bad, honey?"
So I show him.
He throws his poker game, and then throws up.
It's bad.
And HE has to operate.
We sterilise the cutting board, and proceed... He can either pull the barb out of my hand, or puShakespeare through.
He tries the former- I scream.
I'm bleeding quite nicely.
He takes the vise grip, pushes the hook thru my hand, cuts the barb, plucks the hook out, and passes out on the floor.
Vasal Vagal syndrome is so refreshing.
He regains composure, pukes again, and tells me- "Do you mind if I play another game of poker?"
Sweet Love.

I tried, honestly I did.
But I have another 'hooker' tale to add.
My sweet dear love-of-my-life hubby LOVES to fish.
I accept that.
...Now...
25 years ago, he brought me fishing for carp. Why? Because carp are big, and fight, and it's fun to fight a big fish.
So he's teaching me how to set the hook and reel in 30lb carp.
(Eew, but I'm humoring the man I love)
To pull in a carp onto the shore, you need a gaff hook. (For those of you who don't know, a gaff hook is the size of an average teacup handle, WITH a barb.)
Well I hook one of these behemoths, and I'm not reeling in correctly.
He uses lighter pound test line, for better fighting action, and I'm about to lose a Frost-ing CARP!
He was holding the gaff, waiting to pull it onto the shore, but freaks, because (see above)
and grabs the pole- sets the hook into the carp- and firmly implants the gaff into my thigh.
What pissed him off was: Not the fact we ended our foray of carping early, ...Not the fact that the emergency room doctors ruined a perfectly good gaff hook....
It was because he never got to see how big the fish was!
Sweet love.

Yes- I use 'gomer'. ...Have for 10 years or so.
Sometimes it's the best word you can use.
...Put it with 'pinchy', and you can go anywhere.
....Not to insult any GABbers knowledge of language, but 'pinchy' in many hispanic cultures means 'Frost-ing'.
...but not in the verbal sense...
So a person could say- "I got a flat in my pinchy tire"
...or, You're such a pinchy gomer.
end of lesson- I'm pinchy drunk.

Conveniently after typing an action tag.

Personally, I think I would like to call you old lady hooker. It's sounds like an address someone might have used back in the day towards the ancient hooker who lives in the village. Formal, but insulting because you used to turn tricks. Juuuuust right.
Of course, if you argue with this, I'll have to point out that you live in that hut just outside the village and you don't even hook anymore. Very suspicious. I might just have to bring this up at the next town gathering, old lady hooker.

So-ma-bich!
Grover- you HAD to interject to what was a beautiful one-sided discussion.
Old lady?
I argue that....I'm NO lady.
And as far as the village goes, I was never welcomed there, as a cast-out whore of the lowest of lords, I was never deemed worthy of being even a laundry wench.
This is when I met up with the royal falconer and started conspiring to make wine laced with senna to serve to those deemed 'Worthy To Be Seated At The Royal Table'
It was a busy day at the commodes, I swear.
HUZZAH!

Did those frat boys perhaps visit the dorm of 'I Smella Pie'?

I may be able to teach a frat boy a thing or two, considering I'm between 50 & 80, and know my way around a roll of duct tape.
