Sometimes GAB gets serious
A comedy conversation

It has come to my attention that some people are sharing intimate details of events that occurred in Boston. While sharing details of one's OWN exploits can be fun, rumors, lies, and distorted details of things that did or did not happen can ruin reputations, relationships, and families.
Being able to attend the event was a privilege and should be treated as such. With that privilege comes responsibility. One or more of the Boston attendees is forgetting that responsibility.
You know who you are, and if your'e naming names, I will name you.
Please stop. It's not funny, and you are completely out of line.

When I was in Austin, I stubbed my toe! I missed lunch one day because this old man wouldn't stop talking to me.
Then, after the old dude left, another guy came up and was all, "Hey did you get his autograph?" and I was all, "Uh . . . no . . . who is he?" and he was all, "Man! That was the ranger that shot that guy that went crazy and shot all of those people at the bell tower."
I was all, "what bell tower?" to myself and then I remembered I was in Austin and some crazy dude snuck up to the top of the UT bell tower and started shooting people. It was before my time.
Two months ago was before my time as well.

Certain people do not have the need for discretion. It's fine of you make the choice to defame yourself but when you bring others into the picture without their consent, then it borders on slander. It would probably be best for this person to stop immediately.

Since there is no hope for funny in this thread, I shall digress and utilize one of my other traits..
rumors, lies, and distorted details of things that did or did not happen can ruin reputations, relationships, and families.
Wow. For the last two days it was Boston Boston Boston, (enough to make normal people who didn't attend get extremely sick of the whole thing), Yet now, because something some of you might have done is getting talked about, You're getting upset.
Thats a little one-sided.
If any of you married folk are ashamed of who or what you Frosted.. I mean.. Did in boston, Then YOU shouldn't have done it in the first place, hmm?
Now, If these things are straight up Lies, Then we should all know to pay no mind. We're not in high school, and what people think of us means Frost all of nothing.
However, Don't get upset when people talk. Thats what people do is Talk, And if your exploits are worth talking about, then it'll be done.
So, As a final thought. If you did something your family or significant other shouldnt know you did in Boston, Then your twisted internet fantasies are to blame, Not other people.

People need to stop assuming that there are no consequences to things they do online. It's not a total free for all. This is the internet, not Mexico.
That said, I'm not sure I understand which incident is being referred to, but pretty much everyone came back blabbing about pretty much everything, so to come down on people like it's their fault for talking just like everyone else is really idiotic.

Not to jack the thread, but I went to the beach by myself on Saturday morning, and it was pretty much the most awesome thing that I did all weekend.
It would have been nice if there were other people there to share that with, but they were all busy off doing secret things but that's OK.

But since I didn't grow up in 1955, I never heard anyone say "full of baloney," only "you're full of Shakespeare." And I don't think I'd like to eat Shakespeare, but I still stopped eating baloney.

9. Thou shalt not be overly offensive.
10. Thou shalt not be easily offended.
I thought about starting another thread, but jacking this one will do.
This is a COMEDY site.
Whatever a person reads on these threads should be deemed as such.
If some Frost-stick posted drivel from what was a private affair on this site, it will be read as comedy.
The fact that some Shakespeare was posted with blatant disregard to another's privacy is Jr. High, at best.
If that 'Poster' cannot bear the onus of anger toward them, well- that is Jr. High, as well.
Those of you who attended the Boston Gathering: It sounds like the Best. Time. Ever.
Some of us who post on this forum do not YIM each other, and have no clue about the inevitable gossip that is exchanged.
Many of us don't WANT to know.
Some lurk, some post, some post a lot of stupid Shakespeare
(I know who I am.)
We take your hazing, abuse, tubgirls, and mahas.
We understand we are not a part of the "Core Group Of Gab"
This is comic relief for many curious people.
I've taken my share of hazing. I've been honest about what a complete gomer I can be.
You 'inner circle' people cannot expect me, or any other "outsider" to comprehend much of what is exchanged.
I promise you this: I'm not easily disuaded from where I want to be.
I will always be an honest dork, dolt, old hag, idiot.......
Just do NOT place blame on me for something some other gomer did, and is too yellow to fess up to.
I'm not going away, get used to it.

You want to know how pathetic I am? The only thing I did all weekend that was remotely exciting was that kiss I've mentioned. It was a passing thing in the bar, after alcohol, and wasn't really much to share - I'm sure it was extremely tame compared to the things other people did, but I'm in a relationship and an open mouthed kiss with another woman is a big deal. I have no problem sharing because it was in a public bar and other GABbers saw it.
However I immediately went outside and called the GF to tell her what I did so she wouldn't hear it from someone else. And spent more time on the phone telling her about it that it actually took. How pathetic would it be if I actually did something exciting?

The maximum sentence for indiscretion is loss of friends.
The mandatory sentence for infidelity is loss of happiness.
Though the latter is seldom carried out.
So whoever is talking about me and Filly, you are no longer my friend, and I hope you're happy that I'll never enjoy another sunrise or sunset again.

If you want people to keep a secret, ASK them to keep a secret.
If you don't, don't blame them for talking about what they see, hear and conclude. Or, if you really don't want people to talk about something stupid you did, then don't do something stupid.
Presumption of privacy on the very internet message board where we've all been rehashing our oh so special get together is not only absurd, it's hypocritical.
Now for a fun Gabboston party game!
Step 1) Put all the male attendees names in one hat, all the female attendees name in the other.
Step 2) Draw one name from each hat. Those people slept together.
Step 3) Draw two names from the male hat OR two from the female hat. Those people are not talking to each other.
Step 4) Put all the names together and draw one. That person is going to disappear from Gab for a while. Or begin using the name "Bassoon Expert".
and finally, Step 5) Draw 37 more names. Those people are going to be dicks about the people in steps 2 through 4.
Lather. Rinse. Repeat.

Lloyd, I talk about you to everyone.. gabbers at zugfest, checkout girls at the grocery store, my mailman (he says you totally should have been there), cops when they pull me over for speeding.. everyone.
I'm not gay though, really. Just ask [pull a name out of the female Zug10 hat].

I do. According to the names-in-a-hat method, Trixxie slept with Ditdah, and everyone thinks I have 37 dicks!

Trixxie and I? I can safely say that's probably the LEAST likely hook-up on GAB.
AND I'M STICKING WITH THAT STORY! DON'T ASK HIM ABOUT IT!

By the way - newwave - did you actually send me beer many moons ago? Just saw that in an old thread. I never got it - I didn't want you to think I was an ungrateful bitch.
At least not for that reason.

But he DID stick that bow in my hair later.

I don't want you to throw more money away - I just didn't want you to think I ignored it.
Stupid postal workers probably drank it.

I don't know what happened, nor do I care. Would it be fun to find out? Probably, but now that people are pissed off about it, it's probably done and over with.
I will say this, however.
If you've ever said (and meant), "What happens in ______ stays in ______", or if you've never said it, but you agree with it.. you're a worthless piece of Shakespeare. This is your way of getting friends to not tell on you, in return for not telling on them. There's no excuse for cheating on someone, no matter what the act involves. So drunk you're seeing triple and can hardly stand on your own? So Frost-ing what, if you love someone you're faithful.
I could be happily married for 20 years... my wife so much as kisses another man (or woman) and she's gone. It's just that simple.
