I have a cat that is going into labor. I find myself alone right now as wife is out working. I have no clue as to what to do except shield myself from the horrors of the cat vagina!
And no eating them is not a option.
Seems to ba a sack or bubble full of clear liquid at the hole now. Seems like contractions are about 5 mins apart, suggestions and or help would be great.

If she doesn't want you to touch her, don't, it'll only hurt the process. She'll do everything herself and probably won't need help. If she starts falling asleep, wake her up as if she falls asleep she may die durring birth.
If she does let you touch her, get a wet washrag and cool her body down with it.
Also if you do decide to eat them, make sure you cook them instead of trying to eat them prior to cooking.

Well 2 out and she seems to be taking a break. There is another one in there for sure but a cat site I went to said it could be a couple hours after the first 2. I tell ya what though if you do a search on google image for kitten birthing, DO NOT GO HERE!

Well her hips are vibrating and she has her mouth half open. She is purring though and I would also like to take this time to thank the Lord above for making me a man and not a girl with a disgusting vagina.
At first a sloppy Poe sounds good. Trust me at this point aint nothing purdy about this one.

Well it seems there was a total of 4. They are all out and mostly cleaned. One still has her cord attached and is draging it around the box looking for a tit.
I watched this cat eat all 4 piles of afterbirth. Not a pretty sight to say the least. Since she is full now I will save some on feeding her today.

Dear Reaperr:
Your cat probably bit your hand to hell to thank you for being such a responsible cat owner and getting her spayed before she had to go through the hell of delivering kittens into a world where the gross overpopulation of animals causes the mind to reel.
Love,
Miniver
p.s.: If you are a foster parent to this cat, whom some other jerkoff allowed to become pregnant, or if you are a kind person who took in the cat after she became pregnant, then disregard the previous message. You are a saint!

The cat got stuck in a tree of mine out front. Preggo already and being a ANIMAL lover already with 3 Pugs and a 15 yr old cat already I could not throw it out to the wolf pack.
I will be paying for it to be spayed unfortunatly because some other Frost around town seems to just let em loose. A by the by, this cat is only maybe 9 months old herself, according to a vet, and I would never put a female that young through the birthing process.
2year old is the absolute youngest.

God, I'm so glad I covered my ass with that disclaimer. You are a good person, Reaperr, and I commend you for taking in the Poe. Wash your hand well so that it doesn't get infected. I know that's obvious, but I feel bad now and feel obligated to do all that I can to be nice to you. Within reason....don't expect sexual favors.
Anyway, be sure to check into lower-cost spay options in your area. You also might be able to get a certificate from Friends of Animals.

I just licked it clean. Worked for the cat so eh what the hell.
If I get up out of my chair she wants to get up as well and follow me. Since it picked my office out of a full house of rooms and full basement to have them I figure I will stick around till she goes to sleep.
They all are sucking at her teats as of now and she is still cleaning herself.
Any one see Briham ask him if he wants a cat in about 9 weeks. he is close enough to drive or meet up.

Search on Google for feral cat spay/neuter clinics. They usually will do shots, neutering and blood tests very cheap if it's a pet (20 to 30), sometimes even free. The only catch is that they often require you to get up very early to get there or scedual appointments a week in advance, or only work on certain days.

However, is it wrong that of all the text, this is the line that I noticed?

See if you had yahoo I could turn on the web cam and you could see the 4 of them nursing. 3 solid black ones and a tiger one. All nestled up to their mothers breast mew'in and the mother in complete awe. Is no way you could turn one down then. Not sure if I would use fed-ex or UPS to send.
I think she is to young to really know what she did but I am glad she did it with no real help.I did have thread and a razor handy though for the cord if need be. I also had to leave the room each time (4)she swallowed that sac of placenta.

Declawing is pretty cruel I think. It is like amputation ,as the nails are part of their feet and toes. Look it up and read about it. I had one cat declawed way way back. After I found the true pain it involved ,even after they are so called healed I could never do it again.
Declawing a cat is just plain mean and should not even be allowed.

I don't have any cats right now. I had cats for over 30 years, and the last two years I've been catless.
I miss cats so much I look forward to seeing my neighbor's skanky cats. I've named them Kitten and Little Boy. They are always outside and starved for attention.
Even though they are filthy and scabby, I can't help pet them and scratch them around the ears when I see them.

We went from one old grouchy cat named Jorge to getting 2 pugs ,one born w/tumor on her spine, then we took one from a lady that should never have had a pug or any animal.
And now 6 freaking cats. We have still been calling the stray Poe or kitty. I told the wife we could not do that now with 5 and should think of some names.
Idea's?
Pets named now.

Actually, I was joking. I was trying to think of the most common names. I know, Little Boy and Kitten aren't exactly great.
My cats have been named Mary Jane, Pee Wee (I didn't name that one--named after Pee Wee Reese, not Herman), Charlie, Emily, Plato, and Morty. The most recent was Mishka, named by by ex-husband. I had named her Simcha but he wanted to name her, so he changed the name.

Oh yes, dont let her back outside while she isn't broken. She CAN get pregnant on the first day after birth, that's what happened to this stray cat we took in. The first day after her first litter, she rushed out the door (and nothing short of me diving on her would of stopped her) and came home apparently pregnant, for 58 days later she gave birth.

I agree... Until I found out that a good vet does it with laser now.
I guess it's a quick procedure, with very little blood, or pain to the cat. They don't even have to bandage the feet.
I got to take care of a de-clawed cat for a year, and since then I wanted a de-clawed cat- but I did not want to be the person to bring it in for such a barbaric selfish alteration. I just found about the laser thing tonight by a cousin who is a vet.
I would consider this form of claw removal. They don't have to put the cat under- They use a local. Check it out. I'm sure it's probably more expensive- but...

So far she has not got out of the box I have made up for her. Have hand fed her and let her have water/milk in a small bowl while I hold it to her mouth.
Spoiled? Eh all our pets are.
I still could not do it loopy. Laser or not it is removing a part of them. With a good scratching post and training they really don't pull em out much unless there is a reason and I havent kicked her around since she started showing.

Awwww... I love kittens. I'd be begging for one if our greyhound didn't havea habit of going after small and fluffy bunnies. I fear the kitten would be a little similar...
There are other options to declawing. There are these things out called soft paws, and the rule. They're little caps that you clip over your cats claws and with a little adhesive in the inside, they stay for about a month. It doesn't effect their retraction or anything, and you won't look like you had a fight with a lawn mower.

Training a cat? Yeah. You ever TRIED training a cat? How bout a kitten? You can't be around 24 hours a day to squirt gun their asses, y'know.
I have an older cat I declawed many moons ago and never regretted it at all. He never showed any discomfort upon arriving home and has been a wonderful, healthy, friendly cat ever since then.
Plus, I'm the only cat person I know who still has fabric on their furniture.

My experience with scratching posts is that they serve as reminders to your cat why he/she should be scratching everything else in the house besides the post itself.
If I'm gonna train my cats do do anything it's use the toilet. I spend more every year on kitty litter than I do my own food and those lazy Frosts don't do anything but lay around all day, eat, Shakespeare and expect me to clean up their Shakespeare.
Which, of course, I do. That reminds me...

Actually, I have a theory.
Every indoor cat I know scratches up the house. Every outdoor cat doesn't.
The thing probably hates you for not letting it outside.

But they'll get over it.

One of the kittens is trained well.
The problem is the other one refused any training at all, save for not getting near the toilet while it's flushing.
When you open a closet:
Kitten 1: Will look inside a bit.
Kitten 2: Will rush in, climb up to the top, knock everything down, pee on stuff, and then get bored and walk out.
When you have food:
Kitten 1: Will wait until I leave the room to steal it.
Kitten 2: Will claw up my damn leg to get it.
When they discover a new, shiny object:
Kitten 1: Will swat at it, get bored, and wander off.
Kitten 2: Will eat it, get constipated and run around screaming because he is clogged up with the jingly bell he ate, then it takes him hours and hours of crying and trying to get it out.

You can try making a larger scratching post. Neither of our kittens liked the smaller ones, we I just got some scrap wood about 4 feet tall, nailed it together, got some garden cloth and tied it around it, and they use that.

Actually, if I froze up like a deer in headlights the moment a car took me by surprise then I would say yes - don't EVER let me outside.
I've lost too many cats to illnesses they acquired from other neighborhood cats and car accidents to ever let my little furries venture around outdoors alone.
Hell, my kitten was the lone survivor in an entire family that was killed either by dogs or cars. No way am I letting her back out into that world again.
Not that she seems very much to want out, what with the unlimited food, water, love and attention she gets indoors.

I don't let ours out because it's highly likely here that they'll get a skin infection, or tape worms, or heart worms. There are a couple dieasese they can get from eating birds that can be passed on to humans.
You also have stuff like them killing most of the birds, especially migrating endangered ones. They also have no preditors besides a couple stray dogs and cars, so unneutered ones can boost a cat population several times it's current size in just a couple months, while spreading STDs and fighting-spread dieaseses to each other.

Millie,
I remember in a earlier thread you mentioning that your cat had a overactive thyroid, well, just last week my 10 year old cat was diagnosed with the same condition. They have put her on pills that you have to give her 3 times a day and I don't have the time.
Just curious, How did you go about treating it? And, did it work?

Have you tried sneaking them into her food? If she's an indoor only cat you could try to hide the pills in food placed around the house, but I don't know if that'd work well.

I have a cat, and she's trained quite well.
We have a cat carrier that's her cage. She will go in there on command. She sits, begs, and plays fetch.
We had her fixed and declawed at the same time, and she has had no ill effects. She can now paw and "scratch" at anything she wants to without problem.
She knows the sound of the water bottle shaking, and she knows she's doing something wrong when she hears it. She also knows the sound of her treat canister and will become very lovey when you shake it.
I've still got scars on my arm from her back claws, so she can still be a bitch sometimes.
And once we move to a place that we can have a dog, we get the joy of integrating the two.

Smart Choice, he had his thyroid removed.
We were given the option of pills, but the thyroid surgery cost about $200, so we decided to do that instead, because the pills were something like $30 a month.
My cat at the time was 15, and a lot of people said I should just put him to sleep. But $200 seemed worth it to us. He lived three more years.
He was immediately improved after the operation. The vet told us that cats, unlike humans, don't need hormone replacement after having a thyroid removed.
