Are ponchos still in style?

Because I'm making one, but if they aren't still in style I'm not going to finiShakespeare.
Also, maybe I shouldn't anyway because clothing like that makes me look pregnant.
What do you think?

If your making one, then you can make it make you look how ever you like.
Besides the whole pregnant thing really turns me on.
Maybe it's because I am still very close to my inner baby.

Hey, Millie --
Is it going to be one of those fuzzy striped ones? I've got a couple of those, and they're cool.
Of course, I got them in 1987... so that's probably no help. Being old makes me sad.

I don't want any fashion advice from men, except those in the QTA.
Where are all the young girls tonight? Out on dates, probably.
Bitches.

I have not seen anyone wear a poncho, since my crazy Polish friend Lucas use to wear one around. He also wore the skull of a dead cat around his neck.

I don't think that ponchos are nearly as in style as they were last year, for which I am thankful. Most of them looked awful on the people who were wearing them. However, the people who actually wear them, like in the mountains (I'm talking about in the mountains like in Peru, where my family is from), on them it looks good, mostly because they're not wearing them to look "popular". What I'm saying is, since you're making it it'll look amazing I'm sure, and if you don't think it flatters your body once it's finished, you could always sell it on eBay!

The only people I've seen wearing them lately were on the Martha Stewart show.
I will now go back to working on my art instead of my poncho.

I'm wearing bell-bottoms!
I used to wear gauchos, about 30 years ago. I remember because I was in 7th or 8th grade. So it was less than 30 years ago. But more than 25.
I haven't seen anyone wearing them. If so, they can't be as goofy as the ones we used to wear, which were tight on top and high-waisted, then flared out toward the knees. Oh, they were ugly.
And high-waisted jeans--yuck!
I never really wore them. I have always worn mens' pants more than womans' because they fit me better.
I have to agree with Lammy that the poncho would make me look fat. Even with hot jeans.

I have to ask....
Are you knitting it?
Because if you are, they have the ability to look semi-decent.
I work at a yarn shop, and there are patterns/kits for semi-cute ponchos. Not teenage ponchos, but they're very airy, knit with thinner yarn on larger needles, and in nice colors. There's a lavander, and a few blues/greens/browns.
If it's like this, then don't.
And whenever I see a girl in class wearing gauchos, I am filled with rage.

No, I wasn't knitting it. It was a loose-weave fabric and I was just sewing it.
But I have decided to give up on it.
I can knit, but I don't know how to crochet. I usually don't knit anything anymore except Christmas stockings.
That poncho is extremely ugly. It looks like the person knit plastic leis into it.

Nathyn, Frost off.
And, to be honest, Nathyn is a lot Frost-ing gayer a name than Jules. Especially spelled with a 'y'. It looks like a girl's name.

You could turn your half finished poncho into a shrug. Those things are really popular.
I don't have any ponchos or shrugs because I am uncool. But I've given fashion advice before and it turned out well*.

Holy christ.
Shut the hell up already, Harvard Chick.
Seriously. Do you think anyone cares what you think, what you have to say about how we interact on our own Frost-ing message board .No matter what you say, we're not going to change our ways to accomodate you.
And in case you hadn't noticed, you're getting after us a few months late. You see that timestamp on the first post? Notice that's not today? At all?
If you're going to come in here as a new person, try and contribute. Be funny yourself, don't point out other people's lack of it, and try and get a feel for the place.
Yeah, it says "world's #1 comedy community" at the top of the page, but we do use it for actual conversation, too. If it was just people bantering about the latest "awesome prank" they pulled at Wal-Mart, or throwing one-liners back and forth, it'd be boring.
Why don't you try and not be such a massive Carroll? I say that with the least offense. I like you, when you're not being a massive Carroll. Don't be a massive Carroll.

Bellingham Boy: we all have something to add to Gab's diversity, but as Hat pointed out(and I agree with him)this is not a chat room.
Your sense of privilege is comical and you're crying like a Frost-ing baby.
I also think that in your case the best thing to offer would be your silence as GAB's fashion editor. Or a nice big dick.

No, it's not a chat room. Meaning that a bunch of "I think ur hott! No, ur hott!" is not what we want on this board. That's what Hat's talking about. There's been a few select people that have been doing this recently, and it's pointless and doesn't contribute to the board. But we do have these things called "conversations."
As for my 'sense of privilege," what the hell are you talking about? If anyone thinks they have an unearned "sense of privilege" (which really doesn't make sense, by the way), it's you. You constantly link to your own profile to show just how goddamn hilarious you are, and you think that you can come in here and run the Frost-ing board. You build up your giant ego, and sadly enough, you're doing it on an internet message board.
And if I'm "crying like a Frost-ing baby," what are you doing with every other post of yours saying how we suck and that your way is the only right way to do things?
How about you try and fit in, instead of trying to take over? If you don't like what we're like, you can always leave. There's other places on the internet, you know.
Also:
I also think that in your case the best thing to offer would be your silence as GAB's fashion editor
What the hell are you talking about? When have I ever claimed this, or said anything about fashion?

Milliiiie, I'm surprised you care about what's in style. Anything you make will be awesome. Just make it your own, not like it's out of a shop and it'll be hella tight.
I have a poncho, like Neep's, but blue. It's below the knee and very warm, so I only wear it in the middle of winter.

Guachos were in style when I was in junior high. In other words, the '70s.
I don't know why or how they came back into style, but I don't like them and probably won't wear them again.
The picture I linked to is the new version. The ones I remember were shorter--knee length, and high waisted, and tighter.
