The company I work for is having a "blue jeans day" next Monday, for a charity organization. The idea behind it is that employees will be "allowed" to come to work wearing blue jeans, and in exchange for that immense privilege, they will have to give a dollar to the charity organization. The volunteers will then give them a sticker to put on their jeans, that explains -- and justifies -- their outrageous outfit.
This operation pisses me off, because it assumes that everyone is always wearing a business suit to work, and that they need a special permission or excuse to wear casual clothes.
So I'm thinking of wearing a basketball jersey, lederhosen and flip-flops to work on Monday.
And a sticker on my ass that says "Give me $5 and I'll tell you why I'm wearing this."

Please excuse my weak thread starting skills. As the initial poster in this thread, I should have sparked the discussion with a sentence in the interrogative form, somewhere. So here it is:
Should I wear tennis socks with the flip-flops, or not?

If they're trying to make you pay a dollar to wear any kind of pants, the best thing to do is not wear any pants at all.
You could name it, "Bring your Ollie to work day."

Daggy will be pleased.

A few years ago, there was a case before the Supreme Court arguing that any woman wearing blue jeans was incapable of being raped- the reasoning being that she must consent in order to take off the jeans. The Supreme Court agreed with that position.
Always look for the silver lining.

Ought to just wear a school boy outfit like Angus Young as a protest for them treating everyone like children.
I can't wait to see how far the boundaries of "Business Dress" get stretched by some of these eighteen year olds in the NBA.
We're gonna see mother-Frosters lookin like Huggy Bear or Clyde Frasier I bet.

...and I would find it somewhat disturbing if French Mailman actually owns a pair of lederhosen.
