A comedy conversation by Polo is not a shirt 4,634 12

I'm looking to buy a laptop. I don't need anything fancy, and I'd like to spend less than a thousand dollars.

Any suggestions or advice?

I'll shake it on your laptop for $20, same as in town.

This is not too fancy, but it served its purpose.

Best Buy. Decent computer for decent pricing. Buy the service plan.

I have to go take a Shakespeare.

Here's my advice:

Don't go into the bathroom after me.

It's hard to recommend a model like that. If you don't really care, just go with Dell or something. If you do care, you're too much of a dilettante to understand anything.

You're screwed.

If you want a reliable laptop that is easy to use and under $1000, I'd reccomend this.

But you're probably one of those "Macs suck cause it's cool to think that" type of people.

Mac fans, read an interesting article. SFW.

As for a laptop recomendation: If you want to stay under a grand, then go to Best Buy or Circuit City or whatever equivalent you have and hand them approx. $700-$800. Virtually everything in that range should have at least 1/2 a gig of Ram, a DVD burner, and a 60-80 gig hard-drive. I favor AMD processors over Intel, but whatevah, do what you want.

I never thought I would see a thread about anything tech related on GAB but I would say go with the Mac

And here's a comic about that article by John C. Dvorak
