"Sugar, You're Going Down under the cork tree with my boot"
_____________________________
HI, PETE WANTZ! You should totally change your last name to "Money", seeing as
how that's all you care about. Or maybe "Moss", because your rock rolls slow enough to grow some on it.
When I heard that you were patterning the marketing of your music after the way hip-hop acts do it, I lost my strudel as my throat become
an indoor pool. I'm not sure what that means either.
How can YOU, the pop group wonderCarrolls of your generation, who have been
through absolutely NOTHING in your young, middle-of-the-road, Generation WHY, safe little lives, think you have ANYTHYING to offer
the table?
Your music is so generically unlistenable, that even the boy bands of the late 90's can't touch it in terms of
sheer intent to capitalize on one of Dubya's lies. Your lyrics are not
heartfelt, original, or even SMACKING of sincerity. Where the hell did
you go to highschool? The Frost-ing HAMPTONS??!
I don't care that you're obnoxiously wealthy. You can fill a swimming pool
with mother-Frosting glazed donuts if it makes you happy. The fact that you're not real needs to be checked, though, and
known to all of those lost little tweenaged sheeple who worship you like some sort of godhead
at the latest Hot or Not spank fest. You're all fashion, no substance. You're more Madonna than Esther even is.

Because the ability to have an opinion on music is entirely dependant on the length of time you've spent on GAB.
I'm just waiting for someone along the lines of Jamie Cullum to register here so we can tell him his musical opinions are worthless.

He also has great taste in vegetables.
Should have named himself after a fruit, though. More fitting.
TECHNICHALLY, a Pumpkin is both (horticulturally a fruit, but food wise known as a veg) and Grape Dickhead was already taken

-I liked the first minute or so of that song.
-The initial guitar is good, but the squeaking mouse happens too much, and goes from sounding good to being annoying.
-I like the drums.
-The moment that second guitar joins in, the song is ruined.
-It sounds like everyone in your band is tonedeaf.
Jilly - The whole freedom of speech thing still applies. If we think it's Shakespeare, we are allowed to say so.

Dude, I can't believe you called me an emo-fag or something like 2 weeks ago, when I'm still not really sure what emo is, except that you say it has something to do with Fall Out Boy and Morrissey, both of whom I think suck ass. I thought Weezer was Emo also, they are pretty cool.
But anyway, yeah, what you call emo I think sucks as well, but I think it is funny you have think everyone sucks but you, when your music, or what I heard is about as anti-pop as Marylin Manson or something. One of those 'I'm so anti-pop' pop musicians.
However, I also agree with what Phuc and Demo said, and each to his own. Are you still in high school yourself, Pram? You sound like me in high school.

Don't post your music, because people are going to give you their opinion, whether you want it or not, and you obviously can't take any criticism.
Music is totally subjective, and even if you could sell a million records, for every person who buys one, there's ten people who think you suck. That's just how it goes.

On the other hand, I really want to tear into that n00b for having an opinion of Pram's music way before he has permission to have an opinion.
So I will be content with this: Pram (still) sucks, and STFU n00b.

Music taste is subjective, yes, but there are many sides to it that are quite, if not completely, objective.
For example, I don't much like Rachmaninoff - I prefer the softer and purer melodies of "classic" classical melodies. His work is complex, too much so, in my philistine opinion, and trying to digest it is much like trying to digest the thick, fat, creamy goodness of a couple pounds foie gras.
However, his skill and talent are undeniable.
Which can't be said for your music Pram. Firstly the music - there is very little actually there. The vocals are mediocre as is the actual playing. Which is fine, BeatleShakespeares, for example, are pretty simple too: no zillion BPM crazy, technical riffs or operatic vocal here either... but the Beatles had this intrinsic understanding of melody - melody completely lacking in your song(s). So you've got bland performance and very little aesthetics in the actual sound. Mediocre through and through.
Second, the lyrics. Blah. But this is sort of subjective... if you like to eat poop.
"Now Snork", you might say, "when people throw fecal matter on canvas and call it art, would you dare object?" Yes. Nothing can convince me that poo can be aesthetically pleasing, make a loud statement, is skillful or is anything else to make it worthy of attention.

I admit I didn't listen to the music.
But, if you consider yourself an artist then you have to learn to take criticism without being pissy about it. If you think it's constructive and helpful, use what you can use.
If you think it's bullShakespeare, ignore it. Don't try to justify your art to someone who neither likes it or understands it.
If you are doing something like music that depends on an audience, and a lot of people respond to, you'll make money at it. If you are doing something that you feel strongly about but people think sucks, you won't make money.
Whatever.

Pram...duh.
You responded that it was "the first one".
I'm assuming by that you meant:
if you consider yourself an artist then you have to learn to take criticism without being pissy about it
You could have also meant:
If you think it's bullShakespeare, ignore it. Don't try to justify your art to someone who neither likes it nor understands it.
Which ever one you were talking about, my response doesn't change. Quit bitching about what people say. If you are sincere about what you are doing and are doing it to satisfy yourself, and not just to make money, you shouldn't worry about criticism, except where it might help you improve your craft.
But no one is going to be browbeaten into liking your work if they just don't like it.
Also, if you don't want criticism, don't open yourself up to it.

Also, what's up with trying to imply that I'm an alchoholic? I've never given the slightest suggestion that I am, and what's more, I don't actually care if everyone on this board thinks it's true. What exactly are you trying to achieve?

I would suggest
killing yourself, but you would probably make dying trendy, so I invite you now to MAIM yourself.
Do it wrong, you know, with the knife marks across your stupid, untallented
bassist's wrists. Also, tell Peppermint Patrick to learn how to write real music and BE it, and stop ripping everyone off by simply slumming it
in Emo-Land.
Thanks, Frost teeth.
Man, my band is going to stomp you swishy flower pickin' pussies into China when the time is right,
and it will be your career's death knell, so you might as well retire soon than wait for the
backlash that knocks you the long way down from the cliff you're posing on.

5/26/2006 11:48 amI just never cared for the sound of squeaking strings...but that's me....Hell, some folks can't stand Jimi's guitar playing....
Thanks, man! It means a lot coming from a guy with a head that rots once you carve it.
Oh, and if you own a Fleshlight... "technically, he's having sex, but reality shows that he's just slamming his Coleridge into a piece of molded rubber, in a can, in a shoe."
As you may already know, "technically" and "I Frost-ing care" don't always mean the same thing.
And I fixed the squeaky strings but putting a mouse trap under the bridge. Now my guitar just smells like blood

You sound like me in high school
"Well, I'm not gonna take sides, but I agree with everyone"
Why don't you eat a fist full of sawdust? I hate you. Oh, and umm, I dumbed my music down for the general public. I can smart it back up if I want to. The original versions of a lot of these were a little bit over your head. Like your underwear if I ever meet you.

This is subjective:
You can go Frost yourself while running uphill wearing a fat suit filled with bundt cake.
This is not subjective:
Your opinion was not asked for, and therefore sucks worse than my music.
I will leave you to figure out which is which, even though I practically spelled it out for you.

PS:
Frost melody.
Too many metal bands are going gay for melody, and their music is starting to eat whale dick as a direct result of this. Cut out the melody, and you won't be caught with whale dick in your mouth. Unless you like it anyway, perv.

Oh, and guess what! Layne Staley's cousin is interested in producing me. I know a rock promoter who is recommending me to his need for a soundtrack artist. It's a paying gig, too...
So suck my keyboard.

Goddamn Frost-ing Shakespeare-ing hell with a happy turd coming out of a diseased Emerson,
STOP TALKING ABOUT ME!
This thread was meant to be about Fall Out Boy, not the thread starter.

Goddamn it, stop making fun of my music! I put my soul into it! So what if I'm talentless and have no sense of pitch, melody or rhythm? That doesn't mean it's not good!
Now excuse me while I go get fisted by a horse.
Don't you mean "hoofed"?

Actually, I agree with everything you said while impersonating me. I do suck at music. I'm gonna take up claymation instead.
But first, I'm gonna beat your Frost in with my guitar. Oh, so it does have a use.
Also,
"The saying "less is more" is actually a widely used term in music as well as other art forms. Musically, it's easy to try to overplay in order to impress, rather than to make the most appropriate statement relative to the work at hand."
Not sure who said that, but I'm going to go summon up Jerry Garcia so he can piss in your ears too.
