Little known fact: that was originally written as the theme song for "Star Trek". Which was originally going to be called "The Kirk and Spock Country Space Jamboree".

Gene Roddenberry did a lot of drinking in those days.

There's a time for love and a time for living.

You take a chance and face the wind.

An open road and a road that's hidden

A brand new life around the bend.

There were times when I lost a dream or two.

Found the trail, and at the end was you.

There's a path you take and a path untaken

The choice is up to you my friend.

Nights are long but you're on your way

To a brand new life,

Brand new life,

Brand new life around the bend.

It didn't really get stuck in my head, (and didn't bother me when it did) but when I was younger, I used to recite and hum the theme to Star Trek whenever I was leaving to go somewhere. Anywhere - on my way to school, heading back home, to the store, to the bathroom. . . It drove the people around me crazy.

Now, I've been a fan of Trek since I was six or seven, so I'll let you draw your own conclusions to how old I was when I did that.

Sometimes the world looks perfect

Nothing to re-arrange

Sometime you just get a feelin'

Like you need some kind of change!

Standing tall! On the wings of my dreams!

Rise and fall! On the wings of my dreams!

The rain and thunder, the wind and haze I'm bound for better days

But it's my life

They're my dreams

And nothing's gonna stop me now!

That was from memory.

Making your way in the world today takes everything you've got

Taking a break from all your troubles sure would help a lot

Wouldn't you like to get away?

Sometimes you wanna go

Where everybody knows your name!

And their always glad you came!

You wanna be where you can see

Troubles are all the same

You wanna go where everybody knows your name...

Also from memory, and I think a little off.

Look at what's happened to me,

I can't believe it myself.

Suddenly I'm up on top of the world,

It should've been somebody else.

Believe it or not,

I'm walking on air.

I never thought I could feel so free-.

Flying away on a wing and a prayer.

Who could it be?

Believe it or not it's just me.

It's like a light of a new day-,

It came from out of the blue.

Breaking me out of the spell I was in,

Making all of my wishes come true-.

Believe it or not,

I'm walking on air.

I never thought I could feel so free-.

Flying away on a wing and a prayer.

Who could it be?

Believe it or not it's just me.

Priestess, did you know that Anamaniacs came out on DVD last Tuesday? Pinky and the Brain also came out then, but I'm not as excited about that.

Now, the world don't move to the beat of just one drum,

What might be right for you, may not be right for some.

A man is born, he's a man of means.

Then along come two, they got nothing but their jeans.

But they got, Diff'rent Strokes.

It takes, Diff'rent Strokes.

It takes, Diff'rent Strokes to move the world.

The end of the Civil War was near

When quite accidentally,

A hero who sneezed abruptly seized

Retreat and reversed it to victory.

His medal of honor pleased and thrilled

his proud little family group.

While pinning it on some blood was spilled

And so it was planned he'd command F Troop.

Where Indian fights are colorful sights

and nobody takes a lickin'

Where pale face and redskin (sorry SR) Both turn chicken.

When killing and fighting get them down,

They know their morale can't droop.

As long as they all relax in town

Before they resume with a bang and a boom

F Troop.

This is life, the one you get

So go and have a ball.

This is it. This is it

Straight ahead and rest assured

You can't be sure at all.

So while you're here enjoy the view

Keep on doing what you do

So hold on tight we'll muddle through

One day at a time, One day at a time.

So up on your feet. Up on your feet

Somewhere there's music playing.

Don't you worry none

We'll just take it like it comes.

One day at a time, one day at a time.

One day at a time, one day at a time.

One day at a time, one day at a time.

One day at a time, one day at a time.

Proably has to do with the fact they just hired my underling, and her name is Mary Anne.
