Plus, bra, slip, veil, and yes a tiara (it looks nice) I spent about 1000 buckers even.

Jesus, women! Don't spend your whole lives obsessing about your wedding and the dress. Worry about the actual marriage, which has an over 50% chance of failing.
Of course, then you can plan another wedding and wear another pretty dress, so it isn't all bad.

When I got married my wife wasn't working so I made her make her own dress.
She was good at that stuff so it turned out better and nicer than the store bought ones, and only cost me about $300.
Looking back it was still a waste of money.
That could have been 15 prostitutes.

I made a dress out of a wedding dress pattern for my pageant senior year. It looked awesome, but it was painfully intricate and expensive as hell (but still cheaper than buying it).

I live in the United States.
Also, Loopy, I failed to say that's a beautiful dress. I looked at all the dresses and was disappointed to see so many strapless ones. I don't like strapless dresses.
As for my own--my actual wedding was the day before my reception, so I wore two different dresses. Both were about $100.
I made my own wedding cake and it was beautiful and delicious. It had four layers--yellow, chocolate, spice, and white, and was covered with colorful icing flowers. Yum.
There was half a cake left and my fat brother-in-law took it home with him. FAT JERK.
I only got one slice of that damn cake.

I didn't at all intend to spend that much. I think it's ridiculous to spend that much money on something like that. When I put it on though, it felt so perfect. My mom contributed $350 bucks so it wasn't so bad I am almost done planning the wedding and i havnt even spent 2000 dollars. and half of that is food. So I'm pretty proud of myself.

In case you care Jane, Burberry is a really famous designer brand. Really popular in the UK. Really expensive. It's know for it's iconic black and tan plaid pattern.
Personally, I think it's really Frost-ing ugly and makes very unappealing perfumes, but I'd buy a Burberry bag for $2 too. That's an amazing deal, and if nothing else you could sell it for quite the profit.

My wedding dress. It cost $200. I wish I had spent less on it, but I'd gotten to be so fat, it was the only one I could find that would fit right off the rack. I bought it only a few days before Spicey and I eloped.

Of course, then you can plan another wedding and wear another pretty dress, so it isn't all bad.
Hell yeah sister. First time around I had the wedding my mother wanted and a $1000 dress that was pretty but not me at all. We had a big wedding that stressed me to tears. Second time around I had a $400 dress that was totally me and a small family affair that I had a blast at. My cakes at both weddings were cool though. The first time around I had this cake(bottom right of page). Second time I made my cake.

Here is my dress. I think I may make the Monkey pay for it even though I don't have a ring yet.
If I'm paying for it, I'm wearing it.
Double box pleats look better on me anyways.

And for the boys this is what the hubby got on the wedding night the second time around
All the first hubby got on the wedding night was a bride too tired to mover after lugging around 200lbs of dress all day.

It is called fondant and many cake makers that are scaired to work with it will tell you it's gross. If you buy very good (Like Satin Ice) brands (stay FAR away fron Wilton) then your guest will love it. You can also get the same look using MMF (marshmellow fondant) or rolled buttercream. Each has it's own unique flavor.

No, that is totally different. Marzipan is made with ground almonds while fondant is made of sugar.

why would upgrading to 2.0 matter? both old and new versions only fail because of this:
<!--
// only show formatting options for non-netscape browsers
var browser = navigator.appName;
if (browser.substring(0, "Mozilla".length) != "Mozilla" && browser.substring(0, "Netscape".length) != "Netscape") {

it's only been about 5 years since mozilla was able to handle that javascript. thank god zug's ace coders are on top of things here!

I like to use rolled buttercream. When I make flowers for cakes, I use thidkened buttercream. It tastes yummy.
Marzipan is also good, but more expensive.
