Should I be worried?
A comedy conversation

Saturday night, I had a dream that I was in my house (except it was my Nonna's house) and my brother came over. I asked him what he was doing there, and he said, "Well, I'm not really here, I'm a ghost." I said, "How can you be a ghost? You aren't dead yet. Nobody's called me." He said, "That's because they haven't found my body, yet." Then he made me go on the internet and look on news sites to see if there were any stories about his body being found. So, I told my co-worker, Donna, about my dream the next day. Donna: Oh my God! I got chills! Me: Meh. Donna: Have you called your brother? Me: No. Donna: What? You have to call him! CALL HIM RIGHT NOW. Me: He's not dead. Someone would have called me and told me. Donna: Not if they haven't found his body yet! What if he's lying in a ditch somewhere? (Seriously, how many dead people are actually lying in ditches?) So, I called him. And left a message on his voice mail, telling him why I was calling him. He hasn't called me back to tell him he's alive. Of course, knowing him, he wouldn't call back, just to Frost with my head. Donna asked me yesterday if I'd spoken to him, and I told her no. She was very upset.

I think he's ok. Most of the ditches in this country are near roads. Someone would have seen him. Unless there is a ditch in his house you havn't told us about. I think he is Frost-ing with your head. Noe that's brotherly love!

Just incase he IS dead though, you might wanna take this thread down. Y'know. It might seems a little suspicious.

Well, I just checked my messages and there are two from my hairdresser. I missed my appointment today and he was NOT pleased! Shakespeare. But my brother still hasn't called.

Yeah, same thing happened to me. I dreamed my brother was hurt badly. So I called my mother. Turned out my brother was clinging to life in a Portland hospital after being stabbed over 50 times by two cracked out church robbers. Let this be a lesson. Don't call your mother.

Well, I'm not calling my brother and rousing him out of his drunken stupor because of that story. Then I'd have two men pissed off at me--George the hairdresser and Billy. He has a job where he'd be missed. My mom wouldn't know his whereabouts, anyway--he never calls her.

in a very classy nieghborhood that I lived in, on Vancouver Island, right across the street, there was a man who killed his wife, and hid the body, he then tried to get the money from the insurance. Since they didnt know where the body was, they said no. So he cut off her head and shoved it in the ditch in front of his house, in a plastic bag, and claimed he found it there. Completely serious.

no, thank god. I remember how much of a scandal it was, though. They never found the rest of her body. I moved a couple years ago. I just tried to google it. nothing came up. I'm starting to think it was just a really bad LSD trip.

A check of your browser's history should tell for certain, but you probably awoke just enough and actually caught Billy there. He used a version of the old "you're just dreaming" ruse to slip away, and hasn't called back because he thinks you're onto him...

Most of the ditches in this country are near roads. Someone would have seen him. You've obviously never driven through Maine, then. There are parts of Old Rt 1 that are so lined with trees it could take WEEKS to find a car crash.

There aren't and ditches, but there is the river. However, it's frozen, so if his car went off the road and into the river, it would have broken through the ice and people would probably have noticed.

I just called my dad and asked him if he had talked to Billy recently. He said no. Then he said he had talked to him recently, but only for a minute. I asked when, and he said Sunday. He wanted to know why I was asking, and I said no reason, just wondering. I don't feel like calling him again. I guess I'll e-mail him. Sure, his murderer may be living in his apartment using his computer, but it's worth a try.

Billy left a voice-mail on my phone tonight. He said, "Whoooo! I'm a ghost!" He was at the bar around the corner from my house. I would have gone over to see him in person, but I fell asleep this afternoon and I didn't feel like putting on real clothes to go out. He also said he was sorry about Slates burning and hoped I wasn't too traumatized. He said at least the bakery is still open. What a great brother; always thinking about his sister!
