I bought "Polderbits Sound Recorder and Editor" years ago, and it does a very good job of recording any audio, and has many filters etc...

I'm sure you would rather have free, but this wasn't more than $35.00 if my memory serves me correctly.

Someone, somewhere, is most likely handing it out for free too, I just wasn't into looking around for it.

If this is to record you ransom demand I recommend 'The Ransom 2000' designed to mask your voice through four different filters. It will change your voice so much even your mamma won't know who you are.

I second the use of Audacity, Liz uses it to run a knitting based podcast.

I was going to continue on with a sideshow based one, but I sort of fried her old computer with the previous interviews and Shakespeare on there.
