An idea challenge

Recently, we did a little group prank, where we encouraged you guys to link to our Chinese tattoo prank page from other Web sites. This now shows up as the #3 Google result for a search on "Chinese tattoo," making the prank a resounding success: http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=chinese+tattoo&btnG=Google+Search We've been thinking of other ways to do this kind of group prank, where all of us work together to prank some group, person, or celebrity that really deserves it. The challenge for this week is: help us come up with our next funny "Web 2.0" prank, where all of us work together via the Interweb to carry off the prank. If we use your idea, we'll send you a ZUG Mug!

If you cut and paste a few more Scott Adams articles, maybe ZUG will show up when people search for the Dilbert Blog. BTW, what's up with that?

"The MOST accurate IQ test on the web". But have no correct answers for each question. And maybe have a 'none of the above' for each question, too.

If you cut and paste a few more Scott Adams articles, maybe ZUG will show up when people search for the Dilbert Blog. Actually that's not a bad idea. Pick a public figure totally unrelated to the comedy idium and then proceed to raise as many threads as possible on Gab so that the site comes up on the first page of the rankings.

Here's a good one: John modifies his resume with a bunch of sick/funny things and sends it out to various businesses and goes on interviews. Here's a fun one to try; in your interests section put: I like pie. Pull my finger.

Set up a wed site claiming to have the most comprehemsive collection of prank calls. Give a few examples, and the set up a 900 number and "for one low easy payment you can have every prank call idea in the book!" (may be used as actual marketing). After they've paid a dollar, inform the sap that they've just been pranked. Then feed your hungrey babies John!

Pretend to kill one of your loyal ZUG/GAB minions and sell their body parts to medical supply companies and claymation porn videographers. But it would be a prank because you actually kill them!

These are great suggestions. I especially like the "Fake IQ Test," since it is easy to do, and tons of people would fall for it. Another one sent to me by e-mail from JP: My idea for the 2.0 prank: lets invent a celebrity, weblogs, fan sites, comments, photos, wikipedia entries etc. Lets completely invent a person, and hopefully watch the mainstream media and the blogs eat up our mystery celeb.

Have someone take a picture with a guitar or something so that it looks like they're a rocker. It would probably be more believable if there was a 'famous' musician that no one has heard of instead of a 'famous' actor no one has seen. People hear about almost every movie that comes to theaters, but it's impossible to hear of every band.

Sounds like a great idea... I agree with the band thing as opposed to the actor... Call him Jonny Saila (alias) Band name Jonny and the Rocketeers.

You could also find some public domain footage of crowds @ old concerts - cut it up nicely to make some fake news footage and upload to you tube... ) I was thinking along the lines of 4 people trampled to death at Jonny Saila concert in Berlin... get a fake news reader and the works. If there are any Gabbers who can speak German it would make it a lot easier to punt... Make up a fake German news station, show the report subtitle it on You Tube and wait for the mainstream US media to pick it up. Could really work as the catalyst for all the attention Jonny Saila will receive.

Make up a fake IM account and solicit an underage girl for sex. Show up at her house, and when Chris Hansen appears, use the camera time to promote your book and this site.

Re the fake celbrity: make it an unheard-of sister of someone, like a Lohan, Spear, Culkin, Simpson, etc. It seems like these sluts keep having siblings coming out of the celeb-baby-making mill.

I'd go for the fake celeb one. It'd be even better if the site had no pic of the celeb, just to keep up the suspense. I'd even use some of my free time (I have mass quantities of free time until September) to help out with that one.

Whoever the celebrity is, you should try getting enough attention to put him on the late show or some other big talk show. Then have the person streak in front of the cameras with ZUG.com painted on their cheast.
