Aussie Sarah has finally found out she does indeed have Huntington's Disease.I am not sure if she is showing symptoms or if it was a blood/gene test indicator. Either way, its nasty Shakespeare and the ultimate stage before death is commonly referred to as lock-in syndrome. You are aware and cognizant, but can not speak or even move. I can only hope most of you that use "this is gab" will refrain from nasty comments.

Frost. AussieSarah's cool. I probably should have suspected something when I tried talking to her online through webcams. I couldn't understand a word she was saying. Or maybe that was because of her accent. In all seriousness, I wish her all the best, and I will pray for her.

I can only hope most of you that use "this is gab" will refrain from nasty comments. For the record, I'm not being bitchy because "this is GAB". I really do mean that personally. I'm saying it because if she's not pregnant that means she hasn't trapped some man into marrying her, most likely for a green card. And Frost you if you're going to get mad at me for being mean. I believe this story as much as I believed her when she sent me an IM saying "my husband is beating me RIGHT NOW AS I'M SENDING THIS IM! Please write back to me". Bitch, please.

In the unlikely event that this story is true, who could I contact to suggest a new official name for this medical condition? I find the name "Huntington's disease" a bit bland, and I think "Aussie Sarah's syndrome" would sound much better, because it abbreviates to ASS.

I know you haven't been here long, so you can't have been talking to her for long. I am not so lucky. Ima, if she has come up with this as her newest way to get attention-and I suspect she has-this isn't even the most outrageous I've heard from her. If this IS true, maybe someone should read "The Boy Who Cried Wolf" as she's lying on her death bed. It might help her understand why there aren't more people at her bedside.

I know for fact her father is presently dying from the disease, I talked to her husband and he confirmed it. Do a little research, she had a 50/50 chance of not having it. Maybe she wasn't everybodies best friend, but she is still a human being and I for one feel much pain for her.

Again, Ima, I'll point out that I certainly hope this story isn't true. She hasn't done anything to deserve something like this. I pray to God that this is another story she's made up. Hey, the next time you talk to her husband why don't you ask him how he was able to get over the fact that she shacked up with an American soldier.

Actually, I was poking fun at Janey because I like Janey. As far as Aussie Sarah, I've heard the rumors of all she's ever tried/done/lied about, and to be honest, I could give a Shakespeare. So I wasn't saying anything. But, as you can read for yourself, there are a lot of people who will give good wishes if it's true, but they're gonna hedge their bets and say "I don't believe it." I'm with them. Hey, Janey, got any snickers handy?

1. Ima, people don't like you. So whatever you say, you're going to take Shakespeare. 2. People didn't like Aussie Sarah much. She was a desperately needy attention whore and could be quite irritating. 3. Aussie Sarah was also known for confabulation. 4. Aussie Sarah hasn't posted in ages. 5. Huntington's is not a fatal disease. It is awful, and it will likely reduce one's lifespan, but it doesn't kill you. I personally know someone who has been living with it for over 30 years. 6. Jane and Donk are like Mr. & Mrs. GAB. We love them. We went to their wedding. We cheered it. And, as such, we care about the baby donker. And the step-donks. 7. I'd bet that there are a good number of people here who, privately, will pray for Sarah and wish the best for her (if they come to believe the story). As this is a COMEDY board, though, some of the public responses will be otherwise. (See Chickens is Dead?). 8. Go buy a thickening agent. 9. Apply it liberally to your skin. 10. You're one of those people who love misery, right?

We simply saying we don't believe she actually has it. And Donk and I haven't been making up stories to get attention on GAB. You people never cease to amaze me. She just found out she will die a cruel ugly death and you respond...I'm glad she's gone and FAT DAUGHTER? I have no idea how you can sleep at night. The short answer is the simple fact that people who don't care would sleep more easily than people who do. Do you even check your posts for logic before submitting them? The other short answer is that thousands of people die cruel, ugly deaths every day. Why should we lose sleep just because we've had limited contact with one of them over an internet message board? The shortest answer is: I wish you were dying too.

The primary focus of the scene in which Phyllis and Walter initially meet is like so many stories we've seen in film throughout history. The insect coming into the spider's lair, the mouse into the snake pit, the sirens on the rocks calling out to the sailors, the irresistible figure of a floozy on a stairwell in a towel. The man thinks he's in charge, thrusting his hips with hands in pockets, thinking to himself that he's about to pull more tail than a cheap barcalounger, while the dame sees a mark to do her bidding... and her killing. In these instances the man, insect or rat, is never in charge and will be swallowed like the last glass of Bosco at the local greasy spoon. Walter gazes upon Phyllis like a fine piece of meat while Phyllis looks down on him as if he has the intelligence of a piece of meat. Who is correct? It is pretty clear that this femme fatale will lead Walter to slaughter. The framing of the scene bears this out, with Walter standing below, thinking for all the while that women should be put high up on a pedestal, just high enough to see up their skirt and having no idea that he's not now nor will he ever be, in charge. The truth is that Phyllis has been down this road before and, as bumpy as it had become, it was at the same time as comfortable as an old shoe. But she's about to take that old shoe and make it dance. Yeah, she'll make it dance alright. Call me baby and the deed will be done. Like I was saying, it is clear that Phyllis is the one in charge of this arrangement and Walter is about to get played like a fine violin, the ones you see in museums, not the kind you get for a sawbuck in a pawn shop.

Walter sees her reappear down the steps buttoning her dress as she descends the stairs, complete with ankle bracelet and she is before him in all her glory, down to his smarmy level in every fathomable way. He's a small fish in a big lake and she has him hook, line and sinker. Oh sure, they talk about car insurance but all single-minded Walter can think is "I'm all over this like a hobo on a ham sandwich". He's in like Flynn, alright but he has no idea he's about to be tagged by that number 9 bus to the hoosegow. He doesn't know and he doesn't care to know. He's as darkly lit as his intentions while she is a wolf in sheep's clothing. The final scene of the movie is the culmination of everything Walter has brought on himself. Falling for that dame, he realizes its curtains for him. She turned him inside out and he knows it. As he is singing like a bird into that Dictaphone, we see that his boss, Keyes, is standing in the doorway and has been there "long enough". The jig is up. Everything is a blur as the bullet digs in a little more but he is seeing clearly for the first time since rapping on the door of that trollop. Turn out the cat and put out the light, Neff, you're a goner. Once again he's shown as being in a childlike position of awe and embarrassment to his superior, the man who looked up to him in stature and status, is now lording over his friend who he cares for more than a good stogie and a snort of hooch. Walter begs to be let go, to wallow in his own pity and sorrow as his just punishment. He wants to get out of there, maybe to Mexico or perhaps a flophouse of ill repute. No matter, its curtains for his baby and his soul and we literally see the life draining out of him as the scene fades to black.

Even though he put the broads' old man on ice, you can't help but feel for this palooka, knowing that he'd been done in by a skirt. We take comfort in knowing that his boss will likely be his friend regardless of how bad a seed he's become.

I had a little bout with cancer last summer right after losing two close family members. I had my surgery on a Friday and lost someone else the following Monday. I swear the only thing that kept me from losing my mind was thinking of Gilda Radner (whose ailment I shared) and her "it's always something" line. No matter what's going on you've got to keep your sense of humour or you'll lose your sanity and the goodwill of those around you. If you've got faith, another good quote to remember is "this, too, shall pass". This site is an amazing place that's got me laughing my substantial behind off on a daily basis (does that count as cardio??), so just logging on and reading the posts has to count as therapy. Good luck to you, Sarah, regardless of what's ailing you - may you find comfort, and please don't stop looking for reasons to laugh.

From the Wiki: Symptoms may include anxiety, depression, a reduced display of emotions (blunted affect) and decreased ability to recognize negative expressions like anger, disgust, fear or sadness in others, egocentrism, aggressive behavior, and compulsivity. The latter can cause or worsen addictions such as alcoholism and gambling, or hypersexuality. Well look at that, Aussie Sarah was a real GABber all along!

I just don't understand any of this. First off, I don't know this Aussie person so mojo if you need it. Whatever. I totally cop to taking the odd pot shot at Sage and Ima but on the whole I've never really felt any real hatred for either of them...but holy Shakespeare Ima you're building a strong case against yourself. This isn't an attack. This is my two cents that you can take or leave. It's one thing to post an update on a GABber or even ask for mojo on their behalf. It's another matter entirely to start flaming the thread when people aren't reacting the way that you wanted them to. You get mad at the jokes and you troll. That only feeds the fire and brings more vitriol your way. It is an endless cycle and quite honestly the only reason I say this is because all the Sage and Ima bashing is really bringing down the quality of teh funny lately. I love beating up tards as much as the next person (see also: manhole, motheater, Mark Walker) but you need to figure out if it's really worth being offended all the time or admit to yourself that you're just a message board troll. It's just not funny, and that's kinda why we're all here.
