Apparently not having a job (or a life) is getting you down Randy. I saw an add for "Body double wanted" in your neighborhood for Frank Cliendo. Maybe you can spend some time getting hit by a bus and not surviving.

Oh and Amazon Women on the Moon was excellent.

Assuming the criteria is "Movies we enjoy" as opposed to "Movies that are good" - and yes, there certainly IS a difference - then:

5)The Glass Key
4)Aliens
3)The Rocky Horror Picture Show
2)Showgirls
1)Kellys Heroes

1. The Godfather I & II
2. Shawshank Redemption
3. O Brother Where Art Thou
4. 40 Year Old Virgin
5. Walk the Line, Dreamgirls, Grease

I have way too many favorites. The only that never change position are the Godfathers.

This is really hard, because I don't know whether to list the obscure movies I love so I can impress you all with my wide knowledge of film and discerning taste, or foreign movies so I seem sophisticated and urbane, or the hipster movies I like, or the manly movies I like, or the romantic ones, the comedies or the classics.

And what I think I'll really enjoy often shifts from day to day.

So I'm creating a category, which makes it easier: my five all time favorite movies that have the word adventure or adventures in the title. In no particular order.

Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure

The Poseidon Adventure

Pee-Wee's Big Adventure

The Adventures of Baron Munchausen

The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert

5)The Glass Key

The George Raft version or the Alan Ladd?

The '42 version with Alan Ladd. Claire Dodd was a pretty woman, but she was no Veronica Lake.

I still swoon for a woman with hair in her eyes. Which admittedly made for an odd mix of horror and eroticism when watching "Ringu".

12 Angry Men (the original Sidney Lumet version, with Henry Fonda)
Blue Velvet

Taxi Driver
Reservoir Dogs

The Godfather I & II
To Kill a Mockingbird
Leaving Las Vegas
Goodfellas
The Wizard of Oz

Every time I take my dog for a walk, I tell her its time by saying:

'Will you go outside? Will you? Will you please go outside? Will you, please?'

If I ever play that scene on DVD when she's in the room, she'll probably empty her bowels on the carpet.

Fear And Loathing
The Crow
The Godfather
Aliens
So I Married an Axe Murderer

I would have put high fidelity on the list if they would have let me be an extra. The highschool scene was filmed at my highschool while I was there, and those pricks wouldn't let me walk through a hallway. So we'd just keep Frost-ing up scenes by throwing long passes into the scene. The "record shop" was about a block away from the apartment I lived in, so got to pass that every day too, and still no extra part. Those Frosters.

It's hard to choose because I've got so many. These are just a few that I've watched over and over and don't get tired of them.

In no particular order:

1. V For Vendetta

2. Serenity

3. Lord Of The Rings trilogy

4. The Prestige - Christian Bale and Hugh Jackman? Mmmmmmm ...

5. Hellboy

Okay, so they're not classics, but they're enjoyable.

And Squirrel, my hub would totally agree with you about Starship Troopers. In spite of the cheesy premise and cheesier dialogue, it is a fun movie.

Knowing what we know now about Doogie Howser, I have a newfound appreciation for how difficult it must have been for him to film that "alien speculum" scene at the end.
