I've been eating reduced-fat peanut spread for years, and I had done a great job of convincing myself that it tastes exactly the same as the original. The other day, I got some regular creamy peanut butter because it was on sale.
HOLY GOD. I forgot how delicious this stuff is. It's a medley of nuts in my mouth. It's smooth and flavorful, not like that dull, grainy crap I used to eat. With all the low fat/ reduced fat/ fat-free foods I buy, I keep forgetting that fat is put in foods to make them taste delicious.

"Thumb-hole"... Heh. That's a good, all-purpose, non-profane insult. I'm going to start calling people that when they piss me off.
"Hey, man... I was just doing what I HAD to, alright?"
"Thumb-hole!"
...
There's always that split second of confused indecision while they figure out if they heard you right or not, and then finally decide that they've been insulted in some way. I cherish those are perhaps the most precious of moments.

Thumb holes keep the sleeves over the majority of your hand, thus keeping it warm but still allowing you to use your fingers without fumbling through gloves. They also protect the palms of skaters/skateboarders.
And what the hell do bad Japanese cartoons have to do with it?
They just look to me like something an anime character would wear. Kind of like this.

Back in my day, we had to cut our own thumbholes in our sleeves and we liked it dammit! While that was to protect our palms from skating (didn't really work that well, to be honest), we also made our own arm warmers, leg warmers, stripy leggings (they didn't really sell things like that in my town; my friend and I used to stitch them from stripy shirts bought at thrift shops) and would cut the crotch out of fishnet stockings and put finger-holes in the foot area so we could wear them on our arms. Oh, and we put studs & Black Flag patches on everything so you'd know we were extra different.
I was so not cool as a teen.

Meh. My ex-husband likes Black Flag. And he's fifty.
Ergo: Black Flag is for old people.

My winter coat has thumb holes... I didn't realize it though until I started freaking out that my new coat has a rip in the seam. Then I randomly called people to tell them about it.

I bought myself an olive green fedora. It was either that or the chicken hat. I figured that I'd be able to wear the fedora more places. The chicken hat would attract the wrong type of guys.

Ah Robin, Robin, Robin! I SO wanted to make a joke about the type of guys you've attracted, but I'm really not that mean and I would feel bad.
But be warned, I've seen BIG around on the board today!

Speaking of the type of guys she has attracted, has anyone heard from SR?

Could we please get a picture of one of you wearing your thumbholes? I'm pretty much convinced that this is just an elaborate hoax.

I had to spend all that time in study hall cutting thumbs holes in my cardigans and wearing out the knees in my jeans
oh come on, don't pretend it took you a long time to do that!
