When Tony first told Debbie that the only way they would win the dance competition is to do something completely off the wall, she was in agreement.  When he described the breakdancing-flamenco combination, she was hesitant at first, but soon became excited.  Maybe...just maybe this would work and they would OWN the judges. 

The night of dress rehearsals, Tony hung two zippered bags in the dressing room.  He took Debbie's hand, stared at her intently, and said, "Baby, do you trust me?"  Of course she did, she always had.  Even when she realized the year before that he sometimes took advantage of her because he knew she loved him so damn much.  She would still put her life in his hands - and in dancing, sometimes she had to.

In the end he convinced her that she had to be the bull simply because she was the only one who could accomplish that amazing headstand/flip.  Debbie relented, her heart breaking inside.  She went out on the dance floor the next day, and not only did she own the judges - she owned the entire nation.
