Cambridge, Massachusetts is the most liberal city in America.
This made Cambridge the perfect setting for our most recent prank: to find out what social causes do liberals really care about? We wanted to find out not what liberals say, but what they will actually do, when presented with the opportunity for action [read Part 1, Part 2, Part 3, and Part 4 here].
We rented a booth at the annual Cambridge outdoor fair, then set up a "Pie-a-thon," where we charged liberals $3.00 to throw a pie at a clown, with proceeds going toward a specific cause. The catch was that each hour, we changed the cause.
LIBERAL BACKLASH
Throughout the day, we were worried that someone would discover we were changing causes, and shut us down. We did get into a small scrape during our first two hours, when I was confronted by an angry liberal who had donated to global warming, then came back to find our booth now raising money for handgun violence. He pulled me aside, wanting, I think, to report us to the authorities. I managed to talk him down, suggesting he visit ZUG.com to get a feeling for our comedy stylings.
After the event, he sent me an email, which read (in part):

To: John Hargrave
Subject: Pie in the eye of Zug
Thanks for explaining the philanthropy efforts today. However, I think your explanation was a bit disingenous or...just not telling me the entire story.
If, however, you would have informed the participants...remember "Candid Camera?" I would feel less "taken," for I would have been informed....even after the event. However, I didn't get information from you, but was responsible for discovering this prank on my own.

While I'm not quite sure why a liberal would want to punish Mother Earth for our prank, I officially deducted his donation from our overall contribution to the World Wildlife Fund. I sent it back to him, with this letter:
For the most part, everyone had a really good time with our prank. So lest anyone think that all liberals are humorless dweebs, we're going to prove it one way or the other. Help us get Mother Earth her five bucks back.

You should have mailed him a letter stating that in these challenging economic times, the nonprofit charity arm of Zug.com can not afford to waste the postage, and ask him to either send a SASE or give you permission to deduct the postage from the total amount. (in this letter, you should enclose your own SASE for his reply.)

Was the bitchy liberal a Native American? I always wondered if that stereotype was true, or if the term "Indian giver" had to do with the white man giving the Indians various places to live(which they stole in the first place) and then taking them back.
