Outlook Business Card Storage

Question. I'm trying to scan peoples business cards through my scanner then store them in the "notes" section of the contact page in Outlook. I can copy the photo there but it stores it as a file, not an open picture of the card.

Google (in about 7 pages of links unless I missed something) only gives info about e-cards and links to scanner companies that want to charge you a couple hundred bucks for for a separate scanner.

There has got to be a simple way to do this. Anyone have some experience?

Not the Trixxie kind.

1) Place card or cards on scanner
2) Open scanning program (Hopefully you have something like U-Scan or Beatrix 2.0)
3) Locate "business card template" option (usually under "file"->"templates")
4) Open Outlook (before hitting scan)
5) Open scanner lid and place penis on top of business cards
6) Slam scanner lid as hard as you can
7) Locate a tech forum for tech advice

I'm so sorry Chix, but that made me squirt yogurt out of my nose.

If you had read my post above, the "locating the forum for tech advice" step is the kicker. I've already tried all of the other steps including the penis one..

Two questions:

1) What version of Outlook?

B) What file format are you saving the images in?

Okay #2 doesn't matter (much).

If you're using Outlook 2003, open the contact so you can edit it.
Click on "Actions", then click on "Add Picture".
Once you select the correct image, it should add between "Full Name" and "E-Mail".

Storeing it as the photo, then making it the background image and fiting to edge puts a very blurry image of the card in the vCard section.

You might have to scan it at a very high resolution and make the image bigger in order for it not to blur so badly. I tried it in 2007 and I see what you're saying. It looks like MS didn't intend for the picture to be used that way, but you'll just have to fart around with it until you can get it to work.

Sorry!

Can I still get a motorcycle ride?

Screw the scanner just take digital photos of the cards. Then you don't have to convert the file.
