Just when you thought the RickRoll Internet meme was officially dead, a group of anonymous student pranksters at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology found a way to bring its corpse back to life, and fling it on an unsuspecting city.
The Great Dome, the site of many great MIT pranks (from a giant R2D2 to a campus police car), is undergoing renovation this year. Workers have constructed a huge cylindrical screen around the dome, to shield incoming freshmen's parents from the sight of their tuition money being spent on dome repairs.
It was only a matter of time until students hacked it.

Noting the screen's resemblance to a musical staff, MIT hackers pasted monster-sized versions of the first seven notes of Rick Astley's "Never Gonna Give You Up" against the screen. Thousands of Bostonians were forced to imagine the 1987 hit single, which could be even worse than having to watch it on YouTube.
It may not be the world's best Rickroll, but it certainly is the world's largest. (Closeup photos here.)

Ooooh, those guys are hardcore funny. That's almost as funny as the time we rearranged our chemestry professors model of a disodium chloride compound to resemble a methane gas compound. We laaaughed.
