I sold all my Square Soft SNES games (Final Fantasy II, III, Secret of Mana, Chrono Trigger) to a friend for $10 all together.

Those games would sell for around $80-100 each today.

Not funny you say? I disagree, laughing at the crying nerd is very funny, just ask the jocks.

Ahh man I used to love FF2. I had all my characters to level 99, I could take out a Red Dragon on the moon with one hit from Cecils' Crystal Sword.

You can still play them as ROMS with an emulator on your computer. I have most SNES games made, about 800, as ROM files. They are also remaking many of the older Final Fantasy games for the PSP.

Yeah, I have all the PS1 remakes and the new DS reimaging, but there's no geek cred there.

While on the subject of geeky games, anyone remember the 3DO? It was the first CD game console. I got one when it first came out in the 90's, and along with it came one of the geekiest games ever made:

STAR CONTROL 2!

Turbografx used CDs before 3DO, and was slightly less of a failure in the US than 3DO was.

Anyway, that's what I read once on one NEC Executive's gravestone.

Not exactly the same thing, but my grandparents had an original Nintendo and a bunch of old games (Duck Hunt WITH THE GUN aww Shakespeare yeah). I couldn't take it because my cousins played it when they came over too. When my grandparents moved a couple years back my grandpa threw it away. Didn't sell it, didn't give it to me, threw it away. I still get upset thinking about it.

3DO's biggest mistake was trying to make a profit on the system and not manufacturing it themselves. $700 for a console?! Not in this life. I did rent one once, for Wing Commander 3 which was really nice.

Turbographx was a nice system too, but poorly distributed and marketed. I'm glad they are re-releasing a lot of those games for the Wii.

Of course I haven't touched my Wii (or Wiiner) since buying my PS3 so I have no idea if they're still doing the Turbographx games.

I regret selling my power-glove for $5. It is my biggest regret.

You foisted this monstrosity on another unsuspecting soul? And you made money off of it? That's evil.

Mine's is buried in a lead lined case somewhere in the Nevada desert. The Power Glove is the entire reason I waited a year before buying a Wii. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, you're probably Nintendo.

If it makes you feel any better, I also pawned the only 2 games that work with it at the same time.

I find it hard to believe that there were games that "worked" with the Power Glove, but at least you got something out of them.

Also, I have a ton of final fantasy games. 1, 2 & 3 for famicom, some of the remakes, 7 for PC, Mystic quest, the old animation series on VHS (which sucked, by the way), some of the gameboy ones, and a bunch more.

I actually want to sell them all now, because all the recent ones suck, and I don't want to have to buy every system to be able to play all of them.

The irony is if you sell them all, you may just have enough to buy those systems.
