I hired a tree removal service to take down a few large branches blocking the construction project I'm working at. When the two workers arrived in their truck this morning they were towing the typical wood chipper.
I watched as they got to work, one guy in a cherry picker chainsawing the branches, the other on the ground feeding large branches into the chipper which was parked almost directly under the tree they were working on.
At one point the branches stopped falling for a while and the worker in the tree came down and complained to his friend that a squirrel kept attacking him and he needed a break. When he returned to the tree I watched a fat gray squirrel charge at him from across the branches. He swatted it away a few times and then continued working as it sat above him darting back and forth shaking its tail.
Then came the fun. As the worker in the tree tossed another branch down the squirrel jumped from his perch after it, and landed right on the lip of the chipper (the branch landed on the ground). The squirrel shook himself a few times and appeared to be fine....and then darted straight into the chipper's teeth. A few dark red chunks flew into the bed of their truck.
I yelled "HOLY Frost!!!". And the unfazed worker beside me simply replied "It happens more than you'd think", and went back to working.
So what are you having for dinner? I'm having stew!

I once watched a guy stick a gerbil in a Chipper. It took 20 minutes and half a tube of KY...
... in fact, I'm not even sure Chipper was his real name.
