Dennis Krafft of Frankenmuth, MI awoke on the morning of his 60th birthday to find the Bacon Fairy had left him an enormous present on his front lawn.
A one-ton pig.

Dennis Krafft laughs at the prank, while secretly longing for ham
The pig was auctioned off at a charity event a few months ago as a "mystery box" (must have been a huge box), where it was purchased by Krafft's friend Alan Weiss. Weiss and Krafft had been playing pranks on each other for years, and Weiss realized the equation of giant hog + 60th birthday = a juicy, pork-wrapped filet of prank.
True, it wasn't a real pig -- that would have been delicious -- but it did have a background in both crimefighting (adorned with a cape and mask) and movies (it was featured in the roller derby movie Whip It).

The 60 year-old Saginaw County Commissioner tells the Detroit Free Press that the prank has received a great deal of attention, especially on Facebook where "I've gotten about 40 requests to be a friend, and it's all due to this darn hog."
Our only question was, why stop at 40 requests? For those of you who want to befriend a man with an enormous pig, his Facebook page is here. Wish him a scrapple birthday!
