How To: Build a Fake Wall in Front of a Door

There's nothing like a fake wall to make people feel like they're going absolutely crazy. So put on your construction hat, get on the orange vest (you know you look good in it), and start building a wall in front of a door.

You Will Need:

Sheetrock
Putty & applier
Nails
Paint (as close to the color of the wall as possible)
6 nailers (small pieces of wood)
Saw
Drill
Sander
Photo/Painting

Instructions:

1. Remove any molding around the door.

2. Measure the door size.

3. Cut out a piece of sheetrock using those measurements.

4. Nail up the nailers. Put two on the top of the door frame and two on each side of the door frame.

5. Nail the sheetrock to the nailers.

6. Put up the putty around the edges of the new wall.

7. Let it dry overnight.

8. Sand down the putty so the wall looks and feels smooth.

9. Paint the wall and let it dry.

10. Hang up a painting or photo on the wall so it looks like it's always been there.

Even if your wall isn't perfect, and even if it looks like it was built by blind carpenters, the prank will still make your victim do a double, triple, and even a quadruple take. Remember to pull this prank when your roommate and/or boss is outside the room. The last thing you need is someone trapped in a door-less room.
