Yale is not normally associated with fun and pranks. Usually Ivy Leaguers are the recipients of pranks, by scrappy underdogs in Disney class-warfare movies. But the "Yale Pundits," pranksters par excellence, combine preparation, humor, and an immense willingness to mock their own institution -- earning them a place on our ZUG College Prank League. The Connecticut college may have produced five U.S. presidents, but this is their first ZUG nomination. (We expect they'll be updating their prospectus.)

The Yale Pundits are unusually secretive about their pranks, but here are three that we managed to uncover:

1. Making Out For Fun (More So Than Usual)

When someone organized a debate entitled "Rejecting Hookup Culture," there was only one possible response: getting a group of sexy Yale students to charge into the event and make out as vigorously as possible.

The prank was a massive success, triggering resonant make-outs in the existing audience, and basically winning the debate without officially taking part. Because the only ones "rejecting" makeouts didn't have the option in the first place.

This isn't even the best time they've sexed up the antisexy. When one insane preacher loudly informed the entire campus that they would burn in Sodomite hell, two Pundits decided they'd better get some practice in. All the way in, baby.

2. Making Monkeys of Themselves

The Pundits sent out a prank email to Yale students from the "Chief of Yale Police" (as if that title wasn't a giveaway), warning that monkeys had escaped from labs while infected with the Motaba virus (a virus which has only existed in the movie Outbreak). As the campus began to panic, the Pundits dressed up as escaped lab-gorillas, chasing bananas while being chased by lab scientists

3. Professor Titanics Himself

History Professor John Gaddis clearly hasn't learned from his own subject, and seems doomed to eternally repeat it. He publicly announced that he was disappointed in the Yale Pundits for not being more active in recent years -- despite their history as shenaniganizing sex monkeys. In possibly the only prank to feature a string quartet, forty students arrived at Professor Gaddis's seminar in full cocktail dress, and sipping champagne. Things went swimmingly until the classroom hit an iceberg, and the crew of pranksters re-enacted the entire plot of Titanic.

If you're a member of the Yale Pundits and care to shed more light on your secret society, we'd love to hear in the comments below.

Funny article -- I had not heard of these guys until this week.

Very clever, but for having enough money to go to Yale, they could afford to invest in some better cameras to document their pranks. Buy an iPhone, for God's sake!
