The Turbo Google Prank

Recently Google experimented with adding background images, triggering the biggest wave of pointless rage since the last time anything online changed even a tiny bit.

Graphed: the number of people companies could fire without affecting productivity

Forums were flooded with enough entitled whining to keep FirstWorldProblemologists busy for the next decade (they're hoping to find a cure for Whinybitchitis, a debilitating disease affecting one hundred percent of all "I hate the new new Facebook!" group members.)

Google took down the backgrounds inside a day, but left the option to upload your own in the lower-left corner -- enabling you to pull a perfect prank. Because no matter how they complain, no one can resist new Google products.

This'll excite most nerds more than a real-life Seven of Nine. In a cheerleading outfit. On top of them.

Just upload the "Turbo Google" image as a background and you've created the cruelest mirage since Mad Max thought he saw a BP rig in the desert. Simply select the image below that corresponds with your friend's monitor, and leave it logged in*.

That Turbo Search button will be clicked harder than the Hulk's mouse.

I was fine with one of the backgrounds at home, but the one I picked at work was slower than . I immediately took it down.

Note: I didn't have to Google how to take it down, either. I just clicked the link.

I bet you Jenni Maier sets everyone's background to tinfoil or post-it notes.

I bet Ravos sets everyone's backgrounds to pictures of T-Rex legs.

We've resized this prank to several other sizes -- please let us know if they work on your monitors.

And fix them if not, so we can take an early weekend.

The 1200-pixel wide version is the best one, because it features Abe Vigoda.

The shadows under the "l" and the "e" bother me, damnit. And I agree, the one with Abe rocks!

Sorry, the 1280 (not 1200) version has been fixed.
