"No one has to be afraid of the Best Party," said Jon Gnarr, recently elected mayor of Reykjavik, Iceland, "because it is the best party. If it wasn't, it would be called the 'Worst Party' or the 'Bad Party.' We would never work with a party like that."
You have to admit, it's logically consistent.
Comedian and prankster Jon Gnarr started a parody campaign to get "The Best Party" into power and, sick of the financial meltdown and the extraordinarily corrupt government which let it happen, over a third of the population agreed. The prank candidate was really elected.

Your jokes have NEVER gone this far
It's an amazing sign of protest and the power of humor -- when a party whose promises are "free towels" and "building a new Disneyland at the airport" is chosen, the entire population must be so sick of the old system the previous officials should count themselves lucky they're not hunted in the street.
Now that they're in power, The Best Party have no intention of stopping. It'll be interesting to see how comedians perform in place of politicians, possibly shattering the mystique that it's a special job only weasels can do. As the Icelandic population have clearly decided: it's not like prankster can do any worse than politicians.

Awesome. Finally, someone has outdone the great Pail and Shovel party -- this takes joke governments to a whole new level.
Think about the power of running your own government. You could partition city land, pass laws, mint your own currency.
I smell a new ZUG prank coming on.

If more comedians became politicians the world would be a better and funnier place.
John Hargrave for President 2012.
