April Fool's Day is torture for the techophile: the entire internet seems stuffed with incredible products, all of which are pranks (which means "We have absolutely no idea how to build this and should feel bad for getting your hopes up.") One of the more incredible ideas in 2010 was ThinkGeek's iCade, a non-existent retro gaming system for the iPad. (View the prank product listing here.)

Even though it was a joke, the idea so cool that Freekade decided to build one. The video above shows a prototype iCade cabinet controlling an iPad, with assurances that this prototype isn't another trick, or some sideways re-install hack unavailable to mortal players (who don't have spare iPads to erase). A little bit more tuning, a lick of paint, and it'll be in every home!
Well, every home with an iPad, and grown men starved for Donkey Kong.
