Everyone's favorite effeminate erection -- the ladylike surfing statue on display in Carlsbad, CA -- has been pranked again, not even a month after the last time.
Maybe it's because King Midas touched a douchebag, and put him on public display
Last month the masses made their feelings clear by having the "Cardiff Kook" (as he's known by the locals, because he looks stupid, and also because the real name of the statue is "Magic Carpet Ride") devoured by a shark.
From the right angle it looks like he's guest-starring in Tremors
This month they made it even clearer: he's just a clown.
Note how his pose looks FAR more suited to this than surfing
The best bit of the prank is the local Mayor, who apparently hasn't been told that all authority figures should be petty, humorless rule-sticklers. "There is a difference between vandalism and community spirit," he awesomely explains. "It's put an awful lot of smiles on an awful lot of faces."
He even knows who's behind the prank, and that they're behind the shark, but catching them doesn't seem to be high on his list of priorities. We think he's more like us -- looking forward to seeing what happens next.

I love the things people have done to that statue. But after reading this article, all I can think about is how much I want to shake that mayor's hand. And by "shake his hand" clearly I mean a hand job and a donation to his next election campaign .
