Playing a prank song at the right moment can be massively effective, and the right moment is "Being in charge of a baseball stadium PA system when your friend is going to the plate." As Arizona Diamondback infielder Kelly Johnson approached the plate, they played "It's Raining Men" in front of a full house and a very, very unimpressed Kelly.

You guys know I'm holding a baseball bat, right?

The prank was the brainchild of first baseman Adam LaRoche, who had been planning it for weeks. But upsetting a fellow player at the plate might not have been a tactical masterstroke, with Johnson going on to strike out all four times he was at bat, dropping his batting average to 0.272.

But that's a sacrifice we're prepared to make for something interesting happening at a baseball game.

Several years ago when John Smoltz switched from being a starting pitcher to a closer, he entered games from the bullpen. The premier closers in the game are often times known for their entrance music. For example...

Trevor Hoffman: Hell's Bells
Mariano Rivera: Enter Sandman
Ricky Vaughn: Wild Thing

When the guys in charge of the players' entrance music asked Smoltz what he wanted played when he entered, he said he didn't care and left it up to them to decide. Their choice?

John Smoltz: Dancing Queen

He wasn't very happy. I don't know what he changed it to but it didn't matter. The damage had been done.

Well, when you're rated last in the league, you have to think of ways to amuse yourself.
