The Harvard Halo Prank

In 1638, John Harvard left half his fortune and his entire library to Harvard University, guaranteeing four centuries of having the place named after him. In return, the college commissioned a statue of John Harvard by renowned sculptor Daniel Chester French. The statue is so revered that students touch John Harvard's toe for good luck on the way to exams, which has been worn down over the years to a glossy shine.
Wimpy civilian Harvard armed with nothing but "knowledge"
It has also earned the nickname "the statue of three lies" from its inscription: JOHN HARVARD, FOUNDER, 1638. In truth, John Harvard was not the founder, the school was not founded in 1638, and THE MAN IN THE CHAIR IS NOT EVEN JOHN HARVARD -- the sculptor had another model sit in.
The famous prank war between Harvard and MIT means that John Harvard has suffered even more abuse over the years -- such as the classic prank where MIT students converted Harvard into Halo.
The MIT IHTFP (I Hate This F-ing Place) Prank Squad snuck into Harvard on the night of the Halo 3 launch to upgrade the statue.
You know what they say: Talk softly and carry an MA5C Gas-Operated Assault Rifle
What really makes the prank is matching the texture of the additions to the statue (and being smart enough to take pictures in the helpful orange pre-dawn light). The detailing is excellent: as well as the obvious parts, the back of the helmet is marked "Master Chief In Training," the shoulderpatch is a Beaver emblem (MIT's mascot), and the ammo readout on the rifle reads "2E" to credit the class responsible.
