ZUG Is Giving Away a Scholarship! (To the Kid With the Lowest GPA)
A comedy article

It is often said that "Everybody loves a clown." Until someone reminds you that John Wayne Gacy was a clown.
But surely, everyone loves a class clown. Besides, of course, the teacher.

The class clown never gets any official recognition, but all that is about to change with ZUG's first-ever scholarship fund, to be given out at New York's Marcus Whitman High School on June 9, 2011.
Two awards will be awarded to the male and female "class clowns," as elected by their fellow students. An even bigger honor will be bestowed upon the senior who is graduating with the lowest GPA in the class. The class clowns will be awarded cash scholarships of $50.00 or more, and the student with the lowest GPA will receive $100.00, to reward him or her for "persistence in the face of failure."
As part of the "Sir John Hargrave Memorial Award," as it will be known, all three seniors will also receive a signed copy of Mischief Maker's Manual, Sir John's how-to manual for budding pranksters.
Now, here's where the ZUG community comes in. ZUG superuser Underwhere has raised over $200.00 so far for this fund, and ZUG has pledged to double all donations up to a total of $500.00. With your help, we can award these students $1000.00 in scholarship funds!
Deadline for donations is May 13, 2011. You can make donations via PayPal to gentlesnowflake@gmail.com. We are also accepting tech items to give these students as well: laptops, digital cameras, iPads, or enormous virtual reality hair dryers.

If you have items to donate, please email Underwhere -- who is generously coordinating this stunt -- at gentlesnowflake@gmail.com. Also, we are considering a separate fund to help Underwhere get a less ridiculous sounding email account, something like SexyAngel@hotmail.com or ThrobbinBiker@gmail.com.
Please donate early and often. These kids need all the help they can get.

Oh geez - please don't be mad at this guy! I was supposed to write this article, but then I had all sorts of personal issues to take care of here at home and asked John to have someone else take care of it for me. Like he does with the dead bodies.
So this writer is my hero right now.

Hey John,
The next time you ask me to write a site promo and suck all the decent jokes and captions out, could you remind me how many basement dwelling losers spend way too much Frost-ing time inbreeding on this Frost-ing site?
Thanks.

Three cheers for Undies and for Johnny for writing the article and unnecessarily taking a bunch of Shakespeare for it. Six cheers for John for doubling all the donations!
I'm in, and I hope best class artist will be considered as one of the scholarships. (Thanks for the suggestion with my donation, Undies.)

Seriously, Bill. You've been around long enough to know that if you're going to pop in for some early thread-Shakespeare-ing, you should at least attempt to be funny about it.
Also, this may come as a shock to some of you, but clickies are not currency. If they really mean that much to you then perhaps you need to find some other way to measure your self worth.
I recommend salted nuts.

Things have changed a bit - I was contacted by the school today and for some reason, the two funniest students who were voted "class clowns" are actually 3 students. So, we're going to split the award to cover all 3 - we're going to give all 3 kids a $50 prize. Also, the yearbook apparently didn't want to call anyone names - it's the "Lots of Laughs" award.
We're still solid on awarding the lowest GPA student $100 cash, only he/she probably will not get a laptop - we're going to have to downsize to a netbook.
There is still time to get in on this - paypal me within the next couple of days to help!
