I disagree with Chickens, though. As an ex-addict myself, I can promise you that although others might lead you to water, they can't make you drink.

That being stated, Whitney has been dead to most of the world since 1996. And please, she wasn't that great to begin with. Her voice was fine, but her songs were Shakespeare. Add to that the fact that she's largely responsible for the trend of vocal caterwauling that now passes for singing (instead of actual intonation ability) in so many quarters and she moves into more harm than good territory. Those who will wail that she was the greatest ever need to go download a few Aretha Franklin tracks.

I'll be staying away from radio and television until the moment passes. Maybe Betty White will die this week.
