Got contacts yesterday. To celebrate, I thought I'd mug for the camera. People like to see as much of your body as possible in pictures, so first I tried the Myspace mirror-style photos.
The first pic did not go as planned.
The second pic was still a little blurry.
Third pic, not much better.
Fourth one kinda sucked.
Ok, I'm skipping a few.
I don't even know how this one happened,
...but this one turned out pretty hideous.
This was the last attempt with that camera before I just said
Frost IT.
By this time I was a little miffed.
I don't know how people are able to keep their cameras steady and capture themselves looking in the right direction (hint: look at the cmaera in the mirror, not yourself), but I could not control even the manual settings.
With the webcam, it was a little better. I could at least see a preview. The problem is, the preview was still of my face.
Anyway, this batch was a little better, but still not super great.
The first attempt, my face looked like a leather bag.
Then I started channeling Lobster...
Ultimately, I said "I don't give a Shakespeare. If I'm going to be ugly, I might as well go all the way".
I think I'm just getting too old to be photographed flatteringly.

I think it's funny that the last picture of the first series looks like a picture of your camera in which you just happen to be in the background. I'm pretty sure that's how you take a good myspace/facebook profile pic... I guess all the practice paid off.

Most people have friends who can take picture of them so they don't have to do it all by themselves.
