Download in ZIP format (112K)
Download as self-extracting EXE (116K)

Fake Delete simulates the deletion of all files/folders in the Windows directory (or whichever directory you pass via the command line). Fake Delete uses the standard Windows delete dialog, and a list of the actual files on their hard drive, so it appears very realistic. The hard drive actually makes noise each time a file is deleted, and the program cannot be disabled or stopped until it's finished doing its job!

Command line options for Fake Delete:

Pass the directory you want "deleted" on the command line. You can also pass the word "silent" so the splash screen will not display.

Example:

"C:\MY STUFF\FAKEDEL.EXE" "C:\DOS" silent
This would pretend to delete the DOS directory, and NOT display the splash screen.

Not sure what a command line is or how to use it? See our Support FAQ

How to close Fake Delete:

Fake Delete will display a splash screen when it has finished "deleting" the hard drive. After you close this splash screen, the program will exit.

Fake Delete will only work successfully on these specific Windows operating systems:
Windows 95  Windows 98  Windows ME  Windows NT  Windows 2000  Windows XP
