This joke application will open or close their CD-ROM drive when they're least expecting it, then launch a program that you specify! Perfect for adding to the shortcut of a commonly-used application, or to the startup of their machine. Works with most standard Windows-compatible CD-ROM drives. Imagine the look on their faces when the CD-ROM drive opens each time they launch Explorer!

Command line options for Open/Close CD:

OPEN_CD.EXE {open or close} {cd-rom drive letter} {path to program to execute}

For Example:
"C:\MY STUFF\OPEN_CD.EXE" open d "C:\WINDOWS\NOTEPAD.EXE"

This would open the CD-ROM drive D:\ and then open Notepad.

"C:\MY STUFF\OPEN_CD.EXE" open "C:\WINDOWS\CALC.EXE"

This would open Windows default CD-ROM and then open the Calculator.

If you want to specify a drive letter (for multiple CD-ROM's)
just add the drive letter:

C:\STUFF\OPEN_CD.EXE open e c:\windows\notepad.exe

(this would open the CD-ROM drive E:\ then launch notepad)

If you want to troubleshoot the "Target", copy the contents and
then paste it into your Start-Run box.

How to close Open/Close CD:

It will close by itself when it has completed opening or closing the CD-ROM.
