Remember a few years ago, when the cable companies realized they were going to have to stop treating their customers like shit? As soon as they saw competition from the phone companies looming on the horizon, we suddenly got better service. You only had to put aside two hours for the cable guy to hook up your service, rather than a full day. You could actually talk to a customer service person on the phone. But think about it: cable still blows. Why do we have to buy packages full of channels we never watch? Why do we have to pay a stinking pay per view fee when we don't order movies? Fortunately, I've found the answer: cable descramblers.
(Sent via Continental's feedback form.)
I've been a Continental subscriber for over two years, and I am continually
perplexed by the channels you guys have chosen for my neighborhood. No Comedy
Central, no E!, no Sci-Fi Channel, no MSNBC ... no freakin' CARTOON NETWORK,
for heaven's sake.
Many of my friends complain that they don't have cable modems in their area,
and I usually respond, "Cable modems? I'm still waiting for FOX!"
Most nights, my wife and I eat dinner while watching The Weather Channel. It
offers the most interesting programming.
Last year you had an opportunity to get some additional channels, and what
did you choose? HOME AND GARDEN TV. I am not making this up. I now have the
major networks, twelve home shopping channels, and HGTV.
Then the other day, my prayers were answered. I found out how I can get all
the channels I want for a one-time fee of less than $15! They're called cable
descramblers, and I'm hurt and offended that you guys didn't offer this
solution to me in the first place.
What I need is your advice. I'm attaching two e-mails below. One of them
told me of a descrambler that I could make for under $12.00, and one for under
$11.95. Is the extra nickel worth it, or are all descramblers the same?
Again, I won't need you to be upgrading my service -- I just need a
recommendation for the descrambler kit.
Thanks!

Continental Cablevision never responded. I guess that means they don't mind if you own a descrambler. |
