Dirty Phone Outgoing Otto

There's so much information on the Web now that all the good ideas have already been taken. Which leaves us with Web sites like this one.

(4949 spells nothing, as far as I can tell. Unless "IXHY" is a new swear I wasn't informed about.)

I consulted your Web page and found that my phone number spells an obscene word (the last four digits are 4949).

I'm wondering if I can sue the telephone company. Have you heard of any cases of successful litigation based on inappropriate phone numbers? They ban obscenity from license plates, why not phone numbers?

Angry,
John Myers Hargrave

That doesn't bring anything to mind.

Sue them for what? If your phone number bothers you, I'm sure the phone company will be happy to change it for you.

They only ban obscene words from license plates, not numbers that spell obscene words.
