  A former Mormon bishop, Senator Hatch has a reputation as a sober and serious conservative representing the heavily church-influenced state of Utah. As Chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, Senator Hatch opposes abortion and is tough on defense, but surprisingly proficient at working with Democrats, such as his friend Ted Kennedy. He is also an accomplished composer of religious music (check out his Web site), which might explain his tough stance against MP3 file-sharing.Senator Hatch didn't really send a joke, but an amusing quip.
