Many Chinese tattoo Web sites claim that there are 12 Chinese zodiac symbols. NOT TRUE! Or rather, this is an inaccurate translation. There is only one character for "zodiac," pictured here. This symbol is modified by the proper birth month of the person that wears it so as to reflect the true zodiac sign, much in the way an English noun is modified by a pronoun. As you might guess, this symbol is considered extremely lucky for the person who wears it. Stories have been told of people inheriting large sums of money, or finding true love, after receiving this tattoo. As the Chinese say, "Blessed are those who trust the cosmos, never questioning, always receiving!"
